Shogun 2 start icon

After several attempts at installation from disk, I managed the steam d/l.
However, I have to launch the game via steam, as I don't have a start icon on my desktop.
Can anyone tell me a simple way to put the Shogun 2 icon on my desktop, and where I need to point it to.

Double Click steam icon, press Library tab, right click on Shogun 2 and make shortcut.
