help with shogun 2 activation issues with steam

I installed steam and shogun 2 on an external hard drive and found out performance was too slow. I then
1). Went into steam and deleted all local content
2). Uninstalled shogun 2
3). Uninstalled steam

I kept my steam account. i re-installed steam and tried to re-install shogun 2. When I put in the key code, I get an error saying it was previously activated.

Any ideas?

You need to log into the account that is associated with shogun 2. If its a different logon for your steamid then you'll need to get back your old account.
