    Default Medieval 2 total war patch 1.2 not working?

    I'm trying to update my medieval 2 game with patch 1.2 but keep getting the error: cannot open file J:Medieval 2 total war/data/sounds/events/.dat update cannot be continued.
    Anyone know a fix?

    Btw installing Medieval 2 from Steam means that I have all the necessary patches, right?
