Thumbs down Problems Installing Medieval Total War II

    Hi there,

I bought your game and am really up for playing it. I closed all programs and installed the game correctly to the letter. Until the DirectX installation where it says 'unable to install DirectX' When trying to start the game I get the following message:

medieval2.exe - Unable To Locate Component
This application has failed to start because D3DX9_30.DLL was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.

I have done this many times and the problem persists.

    I also get this breakdown:

Talking Medieval Total War - Directx ddl issue

I had this on my Windows XP SP2 machine.
I ran the dxsetup.exe file that is on the second disc and it installed appropriate updated components and then it worked fine.

    Post full dxdiag.

Most likely though a problem with a messed up directX installation. We will see after the dxdiag.

You could try running the DirectX Web installer from microsoft to see if it shows the same error.
