I further say that Carthage must be destroyed!

I've never seen the Icarus story as a lesson on the limitations of humans. I see it as a lesson about the limitations of wax as an adhesive.

Honestly, too much direct plagiarising of Plutarch and the the description does not fit the Roman legion. Otherwise I liked it of sorts.

Can't wait to play as Carthage and to fight against them.

Just read it. It's well written, I think I will pick it up at some point.

Three cheers for Atepa, who sent me the text of this (I cannot open the link due to my poor internet connection offshore, it kept locking up).

I'm actually reading a book by that title, by Richard Miles. It has given me a newfound respect for Carthage; not enough to keep me form burning it mind you. Carthage and the Senate must be destroyed. I was unsure whether to remain a Republic or not, but after the recent ill-welcome that met my proposal to ally with Carthage, it is obvious that the Senate must be destroyed as well!

One of the things we won't do, we won't make anything up ... We've got more time, we've got all of the research we did last time around, plus plenty of time to do more.... we're not going to make anything up this time around. – Mike Simpson

Man that author is really bad at writing historically correct battles, why make **** up when history is much more entertaining. Atleast put some research into the roman/latin/italian psychology before you sprout nonsense.

jesus christ this author is horrible, he gives a civic crown for nothing, its the 2nd highest honor a soldier of rome can get, and you only get it by personally saving a cohort from defeat.

Lucky im a total war fan, but seriously if it wasnt for the games, actually supporting that inane dribble of a book would make me want to never play again. Lucky for everyone though the game will be great. Hell it cant be any worse that that nonsense.
