Sorry I tried to give this game faith but no. I said NO

Seriously this game is just rubbish. Its 2013 with all the big releases out there and the supposed best strategy game of 2013, 10 weeks after release date is still rubbish,,...

Ok I know your all going to say I'm a troll, blah blah blah but seriously 10 weeks after release date......

Still have problems with units getting stuck on fences not being able to attack or do anything.
Half the time cant drag and drop selecting groups of units.
Enemy armies sieging your walled cities and standing still.
Killing the entire enemy army and the battle doesn't finish so have to wait for an hour for the clock to run out.
Blobs, ****** blobs seriously what the **** is wrong with the game developers. We didn't have blob moshpits 10 years back now did we????????
Post patch 5 I have had so many god **** crashes playing legendary its doing my head in!

The only issue I share with this list is the demented seige AI

    Edit:

Using the second posts solution solved all of my crashing issues, despite being on an unrelated topic

I like how people expect things to be fixed...when they have not released any patches for..what, 2-3 weeks now? The game will not fix itself, no matter how much time you give it.

Patch 7 will *probably* come out this week(at least in beta form), and it is supposedly "massive".

They've yet to focus on these issues until now, it's all been bug fixes and crash fixes(I have not crashed since patch 4, so I don't know what you're experiencing). I'd bet most of these will be fixed, soon.

Not only that, never heard of fence problems and the drag and drop seems like a personal issue.

Half the time cant drag and drop selecting groups of units.

I solved that problem by changing a number in Preferences file.

EUIV was meant to be the best strategy game of 2013.

    And it was.

I'm going to make a video of the issues I have with this game. I stayed away for a month and tried out patch 5. So far I am having more bugs, glitches and crashes than ever before. Within 70 turns I had at least 8 serious issues 3 of which were problems involving enemy units getting stuck on fences and me being unable to attack them for what ever reason and not being able to finish a battle after wiping out the enemy, ( oh yes I searched the map so don't get me started. This Isn't starcraft.) Troops not moving on the campaign map. man do you know how annoying that is?

Wait for patch 7 before the video. As far as I'm concerned, that's CA's last chance saloon.

It's been weeks since the last real patch, either they are slowing the patching rate down or this one will be big

It's your money you are free to do what you want with it.

I suppose I should feel bad but we are all different with different priorities and expectations.

I don't feel guilty at all because I'm enjoying the game.

Don't slam the door on your way out... ;) (Just kidding)

Man seriously, I love this game I have even been defending this release but come on! I even bought the blood and gore dlc but guess what? Most of my battles are fought with enemies 2v1 on the enemies side. So basically by the time I have individually commanded each entire individual unit to do something rather than grouping them because they blob all the time the battle is over before I have given the first command to the last unit. So I don't even get a chance to see any of the blood and gore.

All the problems this game has get magically solved if you uninstall it and come back after 6 months like I did.
They are patching it and I barely saw patch 4, says it all.

Demented siege AI . Broken game mechanics = politics and character systems are just pointless and not what they wanted it to be. I agree with OP. Its rubbish and not just any rubbish, its the kind that was supposed to be at the top 3 best strategy game out there.

CA knows they've done a huge mistake and problem sega do too. Wont see them releasing the next game of the series any time soon. Hopefully they'll get bankrupted and/or CA deserters will reform a new studio, like the people at infinity ward / COD did with Titanfall.

You know what bugs me the most is this... I love studying history, both modern and ancient history. Especially battles from ancient history and all the little nuances and tricks that went on which lead to victory. When Rome 1 came out I tried them all out and guess what?,, They worked,,,, tactics like having archers surrounded by phalanx wiping out your enemy, fighting roman soldiers in rivers and winning because their armour bogged them down in the water, having range with archers on a hill side. But all this is gone in this version its just so much like playing command and conquer or starcraft where you can spam units and win.

That ancient tactic of sending thousands of flaming pigs into the enemy lines.

or 'protecting' a city, by sticking 3 units in the central plaza and waiting..

Well no, but at least when you could afford the luxury of comedy in battle you can set fire to your pigs and have your troops dine on pork and bacon as a victory feast.

Yeah now we just have 1 set of pikemen at the gates destroy 2000 troops using the good old fashioned flaming torches technique.

lol. its too true. most of the enemy die to towers.

was a youtube up a while ago. 3,600 spartans dead to towers. all the other armies just sat around doing sod all.

all the guy did, was put all his men in the central capture point.

You could do exactly the same in R1, except it was more prevalent as every hoplite unit had pikes. It was even more effective back then as well, at least it was until pike-men were overpowered by (patch 4?)(patch 5?)
