"As long as your general is hidden, he may fire arrows without revealing his position"

Um I'm sorry...WHAT?

What the **** is the point of this talent if generals can never hide? Like...ever?

ya, i was wondering that as well
Point is, there is a reason that the ESRB does not rate online [play].

A Knight in shining armor is a knight who has never had his metal truly tested.

the avatar skill menu and upgrades system was obviously designed by someone who has little or no familiarity with the basic game

I've never tried it, but can they hide when dismounted or something? ;3

Your general is always visible because one of his bodyguard is a traitor. It's in the lore CA has written for this game

Chalk it up there with the video that says the greatest weakness of the cannon bune is being boarded. (The cannon bune can't be boarded.)

The Sniping skill also allows your general to hide.

For some reason it doesn't say it, but it does also allow your general to hide. You still won't be able to hide your entire army though, if your whole army is hiding and then you go to hide your General as well, another random unit will be unhidden.

Wow that's lame. I also wouldn't be surprized if the random unit being revealed changed every 5 seconds.

What's lame about being unable to hide your entire army? Makes sense to me, and the other point you made is meaningless.

I've seen enemie general beeing hidden.

I was going like "Wtf wtf, how.. HOOOOW!? I WANNA HIDE TOO!"

So I can confirm you CAN hide your general, most likely you have to be bow specialised, and perhaps have sniping abilities as mentioned in above posts.

Yes, with the point in sniping, General can hide, but he can only hide in Woods. Even with Range 200 an full bow ubgrade its very unlikely to beat a army with a swordsman general.

    1.Only few Maps have Woods.
2.No Maps are quite fully Wooded.
3.The Opponent just need 1 Cav to explore your Position getting close to bout 100 Bow range.
4.Your General can only move very slow if hes hidden in Wood and he cant shoot if he is moving otherwise he is not hidden.
5.If you just play Avatar vs Avatar at same Level, a swordbased General will win clearly.
6.Movingspeed seem to be broken. Even with 4 Points on speed i cant escape vanilla Yari Cav.

Is moving speed broken in general? Even if i put 2 Points to speed, the units are moving (not grouped) at same speed as other units.

Kinda a off topic thing but if there were a ability which allowed the general to use a matchlock instead of a bow. Would it make the bow tree better or what?

OT: Never knew that. Guess I learn something every day.
At the end of the day, if someone cares enough to come and post on the forums, it doesn't matter if the post is good or bad, it means that Total War is something really important to them, so I don't take it personaly.

Sure a bullet is more armorpiercing than a bow. But sniping with a matchlock would be impossible. ;-)

Without picking a particular post here. Once again, people speak about something they never tested. Clueless....

Sniping is working! It works without any problem, there is no bug and nothing wrong with it.

important to know. You cant hide your whole army, there will be always one unit visible (that will be the last unit, no matter what).
If you hide every single unit of your army and your general is the last unit, than you WONT be able to hide your gen!

So, this will only work, if you actual have at least 1 unit not hiding.

This said, if you move with your gen and than hide him somewhere, he can shoot hidden.
It works like intended. The question is how good that skill is, I personal can make use of it from time to time, but it isnt really good.
