I’m pleased to announce that in a week’s time we will reveal the shortlist for our first annual Total War Mod Awards!
There are six prizes up for grabs with both a winner and runner-up for each taking home an impressive gong and our undying respect and adoration! They are:
• Best Unit Modification
• Best Overhaul Mod
• Most Innovative
• Best Graphical Modification
• Player’s Choice
• Legacy Award
The First Four Awards
The first four categories are for ROME II mods and the winners will be chosen by a panel of Judges.
If you would like to recommend a mod for consideration in those categories please PM me. Mods must be for ROME II, released or updated in the last 12 months (which should obviously be the case), be published on Steam Workshop and have no 3rd party IP or content (all changes and materials used are originated by the author or authoring team). PM me a message like so:
I’d like to recommend to the judges the following amazing mods in: Best Unit Modification =
Best Overhaul Mod =
Most Innovative =
Best Graphical Modification =
And also the Legacy Award (see below) =
You have until the 29th of August to send me your recommendations, as next week we will shortlist five mods in each category, and the judges will make their decisions between those (the Head Judge will have the casting vote if there’s a tie).
Any mod anyone recommends for any of those four categories will be counted for the Player’s Choice award. We will take the 20 most popular mods recommended in those categories and create a Player’s Choice shortlist in a week’s time that you can vote on in a poll on the forum. The mod with the most votes before the deadline of the 8st of September will win.
This award is a bit different from the others. We would like to focus these first official awards on just ROME II as our most recent title, but we would also like to make a special mention of the incredible mods that have been (and still are being) produced for our older titles. Feel free to recommend a mod from a previous game to us, but this award will be decided by a team of CA developers as a mark of deepest respect to a specific mod author or mod team who have gone above and beyond for one of our older titles.
All this week we will be reminding you to send us your recommendations, and next week we will be reminding you to vote for the Player’s Choice – so PM me now and catch the awards ceremony on the 12th September on our Twitch Channel.
