Im sure that Medieval TW has the potencial for a 3th game about that part of the history
With all the new graphics technology. It would be great !!!
I have the same feeling for ROME TW "2" with more barbarian tribes, new graphics :) and very realistic combats...
what do you think?

O yeah... Rome 2 with war galleys in sea battles ramming each other, that would be great fun (some of my youngest memories include the battle of Actium as portrayed in the Richard Burton/Liz Taylor version of Cleopatra).

Medieval is my "specialist" period, so I would always welcome any Total War return to it, albeit market forces may dictate otherwise (I can but hope though).

I'll be more than happy if they make a return to the Medieval era. It would be great to see attrition, naval battles, multiplayer campaigns, and of course more splendid looking battles in a new Medieval game. However they should do it like, 5 years from now, to give CA more experience in handling a melee combat oriented era. And of course make it easy to mod. I want to see Stainless Steel and Broken Crescent on such a game.

After Rome II, I would start thinking about M3 but no sooner. I love Medieval times but 3 games is too many in 10 years.

I think that is a likely progression. None of my dream games will get made by CA, but I think Shogun 2, Rome 2 and Med 3 will be a reality. My only hope is that CA should get rid of the darn 3D map for Med 3. Med 1 was such a great game!

WWI would be the dumbest total war game ever. the only way to win a battle is to wait for the Ai to attack you. Then you think they are weak, so you attack, but you fail because infantry charging at machine guns dont do well. Then you repeat.

anyway, i think a M3TW would be good in like 5 years or so. although enough with the graphics, ETW was awfuly optimised, M2 runs so much better on high then empire runs on low.

I would definitely vote for M3TW, probably right after R2TW. Right now I find myself liking M2TW better than RTW and quite a bit better than Empire. I guess I like cavalry charges & don't like musket lines.

Mmm, I would wait for Rome Total War if there was a MTW III to keep improving the Total War Saga xD. The better Rome II will be the more happy I will get.

I'd like to see a Rome II first, but after that a Medieval III. There are so many areas that with time they could expand and improve hugely. Even something as simple as Empires Tech Tree would completely transform the game.

Well MTW III is way too early. And as much as I would love Rome II why not featuring a new era?
Just think about the years between Rome and MTW (476 to 1080) or the era between MTW and Empire (16th/17th century). Many interesting things were going on during them.

The Eastern Roman Empire or Byzantium maybe?
Yeah, I agree, that period of the history has not very fame, but there were lots of interesting wars, specially after the defeat of Rome.

I would love to see a Total War game set during the reign of Justinian. I want to continue his reconquest of the west and defend the Roman Empire from the Islamic hordes.

Or perhaps I play as China under the Tang Dynasty... that would be sweet.

Totaly agree with Many, depending on how fast they can alter the cav bug. It would make it harder for new players to understand the routs, and defeats while experencing their first MP game, as well having the old timers see that some things never change

I would love a M3TW game. Being a religious history buff though I would like to see the effects of the protestant reformation within the game as well.

3? You for real? No no no no no. Not for a long while. Till they perfect it. So far, CA has pleased me with the order of the releases. Rome 2 is in order after Shogun 2. Victoria should be more like a stand alone expansion. WW1 would not use the good old tactics of TW that Empire altered with the use of long range rifles as primary units. Medieval 2 is still my #1 favorite and play it alot more then any other.
And if any more TW games have the issues Empire had, I might throw in the towel...

Medieval3? Way too early, first there should be Rome2 and Empire2 released and some new periods like Byzanz/Dark Ages:TW or Renaissance/Exploration:TW. All these would be much more interesting and entertaining for me.

But if they ever decide to do MTW3 - then they should include
1.) more emerging faction (beside Mongols and Timurids) like Swiss and Burgundy to have also some challenge in the western provinces. In case you don´t know both were included in MTW1 - too bad that CA deleted them when creating MTW2. :(

    2.) The three starting periods of MTW1 - 1087, 1205 and 1321
You can start straight with gunpowder units if you like, create the Ottoman empire from 1321 on or recapture the territories lost to the Crusaders/Latin States when deciding for Byzanz in 1205.

3.) More factions - but after ETW and NTW and all their existing small factions or emergent rebell factions they will hopefully not get back to only 20 factions. ;)
When Byzanz looses Bulgaria or cannot keep public order a Bulgarian Khanate should appear, the HRE fails to keep public order in Bohemia the inhabitants shall start a rebellion and create their own kingdom, same with Croats or Serbs. And please include also existing minor factions like Wales, Navarra or the Knights of Rhodos when starting a 1321 AD-campaign.

4.) A playable (major faction) Lithuania - starting with pagan religion. They became one of the biggest european empires in the 13th century. Gives more challenge for the other eastern / Scandinavian factions and has a unique religion - bringing Paganism back to Europe. :)

5.) MOST IMPORTANT: no more equal small countries at the start - MTW2 was the weakest part of all TW games regarding this. Give the HRE or Byzanz all of their provinces not only four or five in the centre of their historical territory - just take a look on MTW1: the HRE was huge there and this didn´t unbalance the game and the fun/challenge to play them.

I would like to see the rebel faction done away with. Not by having every single region taken up by a different faction like in empire, just by splitting them up somehow. If i remember right in MTW1 you had to attack a certain regions rebels to be at war with them, instead of being at war with every rebel in the world from the start.

Rome2 all the way. I would like to be able to put my man up for election to the Senate, and follow the cursus honorum. Not having the game engine choose my man. Each rank should have much more significant benefits to your man/faction as a result. I thought the implementation of the senate in the original a bit lame, and a missed opportunity. Otherwise Med3 would be next on my list.

If CA makes a game called Medieval III: Total War, I would like to see that timeline is more starts early i.e 650 AD, instead of 1080 AD. Also, I want the Battle of Manzikert, or reign of King Charlemagne, Vikings etc. and all that happened in the early medieval age. I want Mongols playable, and the life of Prophet Mohammed, and kingdom of Arabia ruled by Harun Rashid,

Medieval 3 would be my favourite for sure. Atm M2TW is still my favourite above ETW and NTW (I'm also a fan of the melee over shooting- and WW2 would be an all time low for me if they ever made it).

Let them make Rome 2 first though. That way they can add more detail to Medieval 3 when it comes (notice how I don't say 'if' it comes xD). I really hope they keep the little details in it when they do make it. The many different factions, and the large map, and also the negotiating etc. Knights would look soo epic in 3D in a few years. Just hope CA/SEGA get over this no adding blood stage by then too..

    Medieval 3 FTW!!!
