Shogun 2 and fall of the samurai crash on windows 10

Ok I have a windows 10 computer( I just got this thing a few weeks ago and do not know how to find my system specs yet) and when I start the game it will go to the screen right before the intro cinematic and loads until it gets the shogun 2 cursor sits for a few minutes and crashes with a message that says "Shogun 2 has experienced a problem and has caused it to stop working" I have tried restarting my computer, making the game Large Address Aware, running it in windows compatibility mode, checking the integrity of the game catch and uninstalling and reinstalling I am running out of ideas. can anyone please help me?

I am having the same issue, I have tried most of the fixes on this site and still it doesn't work; I have enough space free to run it; and the modified files document lists no unrecognised files

i had this recently too. uninstalling macafee's web advisor solved the issue for me.
