It seems like I may be having a combination of issues that other people are also experiencing, so I wanted to add my dxdiag and attempted resolution techniques in hopes of helping find a solution. I believe that my graphics card and 24GB RAM should meet minimum specs.; really hope neither are the issue! Truncated dxdiag log below; let me know if I can provide any additional details!
Thank you for helping us to find a fix!
Errors: - Game starts to load at the load screen before crashing after 30s - 1 min; never makes it past logo screen - Occasionally flashes a "Instruction at referenced memory could not be read... Memory could not be accessed" warning after crashing, but not always - The "Play" button continues to say that my drivers may be out of date, despite updating all of them earlier this morning - Tried to enter windowed mode by adding " -windowed" to the target of my desktop shortcut, but the game never successfully boots within a window (maybe I have the command wrong?)
Steps Taken (not in order): - Updated drivers (graphic, audio, etc.) - Tried launching while Steam was in 'offline' mode - Turned-off Steam overlay - Added firewall exception for the three "Total War: Warhammer" entries (yes, there are three; not sure why) - Deleted and re-downloaded TW:W - Verified integrity of game cache (multiple times) - Boosted virtual memory to 10GB - Made sure DirectX 12, C++ were up-to-date - No mods installed - Deleted the "Warhammer" folder from the "Creative Assembly" folder - Tried to reboot and launch the game in off-line mode at multiple points throughout the day; same issue every

Wow, this is a better post than mine. But we have the EXACT same problems. My game crashes much faster in offline mode, which is funny. And I also attempted the -windowed command, but similarly for me it didn't launch the logo screen as windowed haha.
mine does the same, after the main title pops up I hear a couple noises almost like a cinematic entrance and then the white mouse arrow pops up and then nothing.
I have the same problem I guess that is 60 dollars wasted.I was waiting for this game for a year and I have every single total war games. You disappoint me CA
I have the same issue, just curious is everyone that has this problem running integrated graphics? I'm using hd 530 right now until I can get my hands on the 1080.
Just to add to list, I'm experiencing CTD and occasional memory could not be referenced etc etc and I'm on an integrated Intel 530 too. I'm guessing no-one has had any luck yet? Or at the very least heard anything new?
On my other laptop, which Total War: Warhammer *does* work, I have an Core I7 5500 , CPU @ 2.4GHz, 8 GB RAM, so I'm not sure the GHz is an issue here. Although this particular laptop has an NVIDIA 840M installed on it.
I have a feeling this has something to do with using integrated graphic, I emailed customer support with a detailed description of the problem hopefully wont take forever to receive a reply. I am using a i5 6600k and it has a base clock speed on 3.5 GHz and I am still having the same issue.

Good insight, CauldronBorn! I wouldn't think that the GHz would be a deciding factor, so glad to hear that you're able to play on at least one of your computers.

Sorry to hear you're having the same issue, but thanks for your comment. I'm remaining hopeful that it's just a temporary bug with integrated graphics rather than a hardware issue.

I'm getting the same "the instruction at ---- referenced memory at -----. The memory can not be read" message. I have a BRAND NEW computer that runs Windows 10, i7 16GB RAM, NVIDIA GTX 970. Had no problems with the game until this morning.

Your issue might be different if the beta doesn't help you. It was specifically deisgned to help players using an Intel HD 500 series. If you have a different graphics card it won't help you.
Could you please post a new thread with your DxDiag and all troubleshooting steps already tried and as much information as possible?

0 · Disagree AgreeI'll try uninstalling the game, but I seriously doubt the problem's on my end.
edit: reinstalled the game, but still got the 'cannot reference memory' error. Don't know what to do at this point.
