Hi Guys,

i just created a youtubechannel about battlestrategy in Total War, look here: Strategos

My Focus is clear on battle strategy. I try to research the best battle strategys for every faction and every facion-combination in battle. This includes basic army-compositions as well as unconventionel compositions, like Ork-armys made 100 % out of cavalry.

I will do a lot of variation as well testing the same mix lots of times and than present the outcome.

Actual i Focus on Greenskins-battle-strategys. Im testing a Greenskin army consisting 100 % of riders (Wulfridergoblins with bow and boarriders) and a Greenskin-standard-army with only Infantry and cavalry which works pretty well against dwarfs:

Defensive Battle-tactic


Since ever i liked to use the defensive way of leading a battle. Let the enemy run and exhaust, stop all his actions until his moral is done.

1. Definition
The defensive battle is an importantt way of waging battles. I have one whole campaigns which armys made for defense and leaded mostly defensive. In Milityr Theory the defensive battle is the little brother of the Ermattungsstrategie (strategy of making your enemy tired). The opposite are the battlestyle who search for descision and the breaking-the-enemy-strategy. In History whole wars where won with the Ermattungsstrategie. The Romans beated Hannibal in Second Punic war with denying big battles. The Germanice Tribes beated Augustus with the Ermattungsstrategie as well the Russians did with Napoleon in 1812.
