User Info RequiredTotal War Warhammer does not open anymore!

okay so I have over 100 hours into total war warhammer (about 111) and randomly after i close the game one day and try to re open it, it just refuses to open. When I try to run the game in steam it says its preparing to launch but then nothing comes up, the warhammer launcher never opens. and after the "preparing to launch" steam screen goes away it says "running" next to my warhammer game in my library as if its running, then after about a few seconds it says "syncing" as if its syncing the games saves to the cloud or something. Its the only game in my library that wont work, i am able to start Attila total war with zero problems. I have attached my DxDiag to this post so hopefully that helps, any help at all would be greatly appreciated! thank you!

No i am not running any mods for total war warhammer

i should also say i did the "verify game cashe" in steam and that also did not work, and i tried uninstalling and reinstalling still nothing

Did you clean the Appdata folder?

It would refresh your in-game settings. The quick way to do it is just go to the Warhammer folder in Appdata and re-name it, then verify your game cache with Stream running as administrator. That will also preserve your saves/replays, and the original settings in case you need to switch back.

Okay I'm going to try that. I know my windows sfc command said I had corrupt files right around the same time the game stopped working, would that be related at all? Or no?

If your system had corrupted files It's anybody's guess what changes that may have made, if any, to the game or any other programs. It's also possible that the recent patch may require different settings from those you had before.

I presume you have already resolved the corrupt system files?

I had tried running a few things in command prompt and it couldn't fix the corrupted files, I'll probably do a restore to Windows 10 so it fixes all the corrupt files. You think that may fix the game then? I just thought it strange how it stopped working after over 100 hours of gameplay

You know there was a major update last Thursday? That could mean you need to refresh settings anyway.

Is there anything in your modified.log? https://forums.totalwar.com/discussion/173602/how-to-find-your-modified-log-file#latest

That said, looking at the error messages in your Dxdiag it does look like you need to fix your OS first.

sorry for the delayed response but where do i find the app data in windows 10? im kinda new to it

It's normally here C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Roaming\The Creative Assembly\Warhammer

Indeed. In this case there are no real anomalies showing, though, that might prevent the game launching at least.

so maybe its just those errors in the OS i have to fix? because i saw how it said problem signature total warhammer launcher or something like that at the bottom of the dxdiag

It could well be. If you look at the Dxdiag several of the launcher errors refer to MSVCR120.dll, which I believe is a system file.

should i try to refresh game settings like you said earlier cuz of that update? if so how would i do tht again? just re name the folder

First fix your system, then if necessary re-name the folder.
