Since I installed the latest Warhammer update I've been experiencing an issue with sound and performance on the campaign and battle maps. Basically once I load into the game the sound glitches and stutters and the game runs much more slowly. If I restart the computer however the problem goes away and the game runs smoothly with no issue. To reproduce this all I have to do is shut the computer down completely and start it back up, then launch the game. I've updated all my drivers, tested different cables and even tried a clean install of windows but nothing has worked. Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Hey,
Please can I ask you to try the following:
Use the Search tool in your Start Menu (Windows 7/8) or Task Bar (Windows 10) and search for ‘%appdata%'
From here go into \The Creative Assembly\Warhammer\scripts
Open your preferences.script. (.txt)
Press CTRL + F and search for:
audio_api_type 0
Once you have found that line, change the '0' to a '1' and observe how it impacts your issue.
If no improvement, try changing the number to a '2'. Again observe and report back here to let us know if you had any improvements.
Thanks for your patience, Guy

Hey Guy,
Thanks for the reply.
Changing the value from 0 to 1 showed no improvements. Changing it to 2 however cleaned up the audio stutter. The only issue left now is the slow, sluggish performance. For example there is definitely a delay between selecting a settlement and the tool-tip appearing, and the pop-up message after selecting the message in the message viewer also appears to react too slowly. Again this issue seems to right itself if I restart the computer.

Hi,
Please can you check your Task Manager and ensure you have no non-essential programs running in the background whilst you play Warhammer? One of these may be impacting your performance.
Thanks, Guy

Hi
There are no other applications running in the background other than windows processes. I've uploaded a screen shot of the tasks that are using the highest CPU/Ram.

Hi,
Are you overclocking any of your hardware? If so you will need to disable this for testing purposes.
Thanks, Guy
