SolvedTW Warhammer doesn't launch

Around two days ago I started up total war warhammer, but encountered an issue in which the game wouldn't launch. When I start up the game on steam it says the game is running, followed by synchronizing and then the game stops completely. It only took 2.8 hours of gameplay for this bug to occur, and I've been looking for a fix.
Fixes I have already tried:
-Start in offline mode
-Verify integrity of game cache
-Reinstall game
-Start without overlay
-Start in windowed mode
-Repair redistributables

If a current fix could be provided in this thread it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I am suffering the same crash. I get the launcher, click play, launcher disappears, Steam says the game is running and Warhammer.exe is visible in my processes, then it suddenly disappears, Steam synchronizes and that's the end of it. Tried all the fixes mentioned above as well. Have over 90 hours in warhammer so this problem is only a recent one...

I'm having exactly the same problem. Do you have any solutions jet?

    Hi WJM2220,

I am sorry to read that you are unable to play the game anymore.

We have done a hotfix to patch 1 recently (15.07.2016) so this might have caused your issue maybe?

You can roll back to patch 1 pre-fix by following this sticky thread. Bear in mind you are looking for "Patch1" and not "dayzero" as this last one will not enable you to play with the "BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD" DLC, nor have the latest fixes we implemented with patch 1.

In any case I would be interested in looking into your issue further. Could you please provide the following files before rolling back to any previous patch please?

    - Your DxDiag file
    - Your preference.script file
    - Your modified.log file
    - And if you can find any, your mini dump file

Also you can try this FAQ as it has general solutions for the issue you describe. (For the parts you haven't done yet - verifying game cache however can help once everything is done.)

Please keep us updated as knowing what works for one player helps us knowing what might work for others. :)

    Thanks,

@Pyron Did you try the FAQs in Matthias's post?

Resolved my issue, my preferences.script file was deleted so I copied and pasted the file from the faq. Thanks for the help!

A good start would be by opening your own thread and posting the information as mentioned in Matthias' post.

I had tried so many other solutions.

Here is what finally worked; uninstall every other copy of the game you may have. Then

" - Open a windows explorer page and copy paste in the top bare the following:

    %AppData%\Roaming\The Creative assembly

    - Rename the Warhammer folder with any other name

    - Launch the game

    - If the issue isn’t solved this way please rename the folder back to Warhammer"

    Matthias CA, gratitude extraordinaire

if you wonder why I uninstalled anything it was so that there was no trouble referencing the one folder which I had changed the name of.
