game compatibility

I was going on multiplayer yesterday and low and behold i couldnt play ANYONE as my version of the game was "incompatible" with theirs. Surely this shouldnt be the case. Can anyone help/suggest. Thanks.

    I have the same issue, but i have all the DLC and i cant play anyone just constantly says looking for games, also when i try to join a custom game i am not able to join why is that?
