Mighty Khorne, grant me the strength to sweep this freemium nonsense aside with ease.

PLEASE CA!!! Chaos Warriors need a faction that is not horde only by the time the trilogy is finished! We beg of you!

Just Realized this topic has been viewed more, the topic of " Limiting Race Expansion/ Colonization Expansion" alone than more than half of the stickied things at the top of the forum... I hope you are too CA and I mean that in a positive way from a huge fan!

Please improve sieges! Add racial flavor and ACTUALLY make them "deeper rather than wide" copy and paste with different art needs to go!

Blizzard charges £10 a month just to play their title game, WoW. That is WAY worse than CA.

But yeah, price-gouging is not cool.

Plus, on the other hand, since I met puberty, I have not spent £40 a month on little lead/plastic soldiers since 1995 so I've saved a few bob over the years that I can now spend on DLC
Yeah, that's a good point. The DLC is WAY cheaper than the TT game and the models actually move and stuff.

    Worth it.

I did, despite all the thoughtful warnings on the forums (actually I pre-ordered on GMG so I paid $14). Fortunately I still managed to pay my mortgage on time. No one from CA came through my window to violate me after entering my credit card either. Hopefully my luck continues to hold out.

DLCs are optional content. They aren't required to play the game. And, as others have said, one day they will be on sale.

My take is they need to charge what they need to both develop the content properly (which I believe they did - Beastmen was an awesome addition) and make a profit (because that is what companies do).

I worry that all the posts whining about a couple of extra dollars will cause CA to cut corners on future DLCs - and then they really wont be worth buying.

Yeah, Bart even mentioned on the Reddit forums that if they continue getting whalloped on Steam reviews, they'll have to dial back DLC plans to avoid more review brigading.

    Thanks guys.

It was more: "If the Steam reviews have an effect on sales, then we may not be able to do everything we want" rather than "If our feelings get hurt by the Steam reviews..."

So far so good though, considering that the Beastmen DLC did amazingly well apparently.

'Here are things that matter to a player like me'
I like the game. Hell, I love the game. AI is very good, gameplay is challenging on average, on harder its actually turning into work (in a good way). Content is quirkily humorous, side themes like equipment and spells are interesting, the battles real events. I'm guessing CA are doing really well out of this and good on them, the work and attention to detail really shows, each expansion ive bought has added tons to the base game (which ive only finished once, on average, going down to glorious defeat many many times. And don't get me started on the horrors of ticking 'battle realism' in the options. 2 days
of my life gone like that) If I stop enjoying it I'll stop paying for it. Simple as that. You want good stuff you pay for it. Simple as that.
Oh, and the thought of CA changing a successful marketing strategy due to an open letter from someone on the forums is a tiny bit humorous.

It is remarkable, the cognitive dissonance of somebody admitting to enjoying an entertainment product for 160 hours while feeling cheated by having to pay for more content on top of that.

Besides most of the people love the dlc, they aren't puching away the fans there adding more bye introducing more content, besides if you really hate dlc so much than don't support it bye buying all the **** dlc you moron,

I almost feel like writing an open letter to say I will buy whatever DLC they make and gift a few copies to my friends as well. TW games are tremendous value for money. People are *still* playing Empire TW and older titles. CA make games that last. That means any and all DLC is valuable as well.

Steam reviews are a toilet after Beastmen, this is probably a serious problem for CA. It's gotta be hammering their sales thanks to all the trolls who feel so entitled they need to trash the main game instead of just not buying the DLC. I'm pretty sure they would have been a lot smarter to have released it around $12, I'd have bought it, can't be the only one.

Beyond that? I'm sorry, as a modder, not for this, every update is supposed to break my ****. It's called updating, it's a bit mandatory, and it's the modder's problem. If you're crazy enough to try using now incompatible mods with new updates, you can't blame them not working on CA. Your post is a great deal of complaining with not a hell of a lot of logic to it.

Posts like this make me cry a little, instead. What reason would there be to support a game and fix all the problems that are so terrible? If there is no way to generate income, there is just about no reason to support a game. Think how games used to be ten years ago. One patch? Sure. Two patches? Maybe. A third? Forget about it. You may think DLC is evil, but you completely forget DLC is the one thing that actually allows devs to improve their games.

Last, but not least, DLC just so happens to improve my experience. So excuse me while I pay for things I like while you get to benefit no matter what.

Next DLC: "Tears of the Gods"

I imagine that'd be a pretty expensive DLC, but it still worth it just for the name!

I never get the point of whining abouta dlc that you can buy every 1 or 2 months for a price of going to a movie and a cheesburger with a coke and that gives you dozens or hundreds of hours worth of content. i think its a pretty fair deal. If you have financial problems to spend 8-18 euros or dollars every 1 or 2 months for something that you enjoy than you really have other problems in your life than to worry about dlc for a game. This game has definetly some issues but the dlc politics aint one of them.

Lets all go easy on the OP, nobody knows his or her situation or more importantly age.

However the OP did contact me on steam asking me to fix my mod as it was crashing their game (in the end i don't think it was mine), the OP maintains a collection of around 70 mods and advertises it as the best mod collection in town. There is literally no way that amount of mods works well together, even a handful of them will conflict.

I have no problems with TWW DLC's or how much they cost. Why? Because I simply love this game and all the official addons and dlc's they make for us only enhances my experience of TWW even further. In my books CA has earned my money by making this great game and keep adding "fresh stuff" into it.
