She's a Legendary Lord, but she gets buffs if fighting alongside Vlad in battle. We'll have more information on this, don't worry!

EDIT: I mean... there are the special spectral heros for Angrund. Surely it must be possible.

Vlad can join her in battle and she'll gain buffs from it, just as currently Balthasar Gelt can show up on the battle field for Karl Franz. This is not a new mechanic.

So we do get the hero's of the armybook as LL rather then story characters (I'm avoiding the word backstage), very interesting.

Thou given the fact that it is indeed a very fitting valentines gift, given one of the greatest love stories of the Warhammer world.

My issues with this news:
- This pretty much kills any chance for future "legendary heroes" concept. If there ware such a chance we should have her as legendary hero, not a lord.
- Another Carstein: that makes 3 already, while we still have absolutely ZERO vampires from other bloodlines which is just sad. I could live with Blood Dragons as a unit (Blood Knights) and Strigoi as just regular lord (Ghoul King), but for Nagash's sake, where in the hell are Lahmians and Necrarch?? They are the most interesting bloodlines out there...

Apart from those two issues above - I really am very happy to see Isabella, thanks CA for expanding Vampire Diaries

[EDIT] I also fear that all other LL's for VC will require a serious buff. Vlad is already the best LL and with her following his main army and joining every battle it will be even more of a "easy mode". So Mannfred requires slight buff and Kemmler requires insane buff!!

I hope if TW loses this contest and it's finally paid dlc it will include something more than just a single LL.... I mean, king and the warlord added 2 LLs, 2 subfactions + 2 campaigns, maps and like 5-6 new units and it was something like 6-7€, so how much isabella alone would be? 0,50, 1€??

we will have to wait to see I guess. Hope we win.

Nor if she's dropped etc.

To a certain extent the existence of a particular LL only helps the causes of others. Vlad and Neferata both require lore jiggery pokery to exist, thus showing that CA have license to do so.

Yeah the "legendary hero" concept was/is a nice one and look less likely as more and more heroes get promoted to lord status.
On the other hand: having the hero characters of the armybook in one form is better then not having them at all.

As for your 2nd complain...
the race is called "Vampire COUNTS" not Vampires and since only the Carsteins are connected to a count title and the fact that GW build the VC entirely around them makes this more of a complain about the Warhammer world then TW.

Now the VC AI will have five LL leading their armies? Spice it up a bit, jeez...

And considering how timid the AI is about allowing an engagement without having a significant numerical advantage I don't see many opportunities for Vlad and Isabella to reinforce each other...

That is called "8th edition armybooks". Those never had a problem with bending time and space to let people fight each other (like Karl Franz and Vlad) who never EVER could have meat each other lorewise.

Not at all. Faction is called Vampire Counts since it was introduced and it had all bloodlines available in armybooks all those time (in one form or another). So there's no conflict of concepts whatsoever. And no, not only Carsteins are connected to Count title. Blood Dragons of Mausillon are also Counts, same goes for highest possible nobility of vampire world - the Lahmians. Only Necrarch are more of a wandering wizards then actual nobility, though they still did wage wars on their own in the past.

Bit surprised at everyone complaining she's not a hero/doesn't exist simply to reinforce Vlad. There are 20 male Legendary Lords to choose from and no one has ever complained about them not being heroes, but I for one am really excited to have a female Legendary Lord who can lead an army and isn't relegated to being a second in command. Isabella is bad-ass and I can't wait to play as her!
