With Total War: WARHAMMER II dropping THIS THURSDAY, we've put together all the info you need to make sure you're completely ready to begin your conquest of the new world!

Pre-Load:

We're allowing those who have pre-ordered Total War: WARHAMMER II to pre-load the game at 5.30pm BST this evening.
If you need to know what time that is in your time zone you can find out here
Don't have WARHAMMER II pre-ordered? You can grab it here and get the Norsca DLC for WARHAMMER I to play right now!

Drivers:

Is your PC WHII-ready? Don’t forget to check you’ve got the latest drivers for your graphics card! This will ensure you get the very best performance at launch.
NVIDIA Card owners: head to: https://www.geforce.com/drivers
AMD Card owners: head to http://support.amd.com and click the Drivers & Support tab.
Both NVIDIA’s and AMD’s driver-download pages can auto-detect your model of card and supply you with the latest drivers compatible with your operating system. Both sites also allow you to manually download appropriate drivers if you prefer.
NVIDIA and AMD both offer free companion software to make the most of your graphics card – NVIDIA Geforce Experience, and AMD ReLive. Once installed and running, these software packages can inform you when new drivers become available for download, and offer a host of bonus functions, such as recording and sharing your own video footage.

How big is the file? Just want to estimate how many hours it will take.

Game 1 was 9 GB, so can I expect around 15-20 GB for game 2?

The preload usually is a packed encrypted file which will be unpacked when the game goes live. If no day 1 patch probably the only thing left when the gane is live is pretty small. Just the .exe and the launchet probably. At the most will peobably be around 1 GB but I doubt because no mention of day 1 patch anywhere.

    Just a question to CA.

Will these be available on day 1?

    1. Assembly Kit
    2. DX12
    3. Build in benchmark

Will the preload of TW 2 result in any updates that are happening to TW 1 going live there and then? Or will any changes to TW 1 need to wait until 28th?

    Thanks

It's indeed very unlikely. But I believe Valve did it with Portal 2 so who know what CA will do.

Btw, the exclaimation mark in the title looks like you can pre-load Warhammer 3 instead of 2. I suppose the text got screwed at that font size?

An early preload is great and all, however, I can't help but feel a bit betrayed. I love to get physical editions because I am one of those "old-school" collectors who like to keep the physical copies in chronological order in their shelves. I've done this for the entire Total War series starting at Rome: Total War.

I ordered the Limited Edition at amazon.de as I currently live in Germany and did not obtain a High King Edition for the first game, thus, I wanted to stay consistent and did not order the Serpend God Edition. My problem now: Amazon is only delivering it on 28th/29th September, thus the preload doesn't affect me. Why are other distributors constrained to deliver at the earliest on release day considering many people have already obtained their Serpent God Edition sooner? The disk and data are useless without the product activation by CA, so they might as well allow other distributors to deliver sooner, before the actual release day. :(

Somebody isn't getting their smooth 100 GPS performance. I'm just happy they finally updated their cards to support 4G and RDR color.

Estimated download time: 3 days, 5 hours.

    /Just/ in time it seems.
