Wood Elves are inaccurate

cupcakeeecupcakeee Posts: 13Registered Users
They're supposed to be beyond master archers, super-naturally keen and accurate bowmen. Hitting a man at 300 yards should be easy for them. In Total War, Warhammer 2, however, you can have 100 archers fire at a man at 300 yards and maybe 3-4 arrows will hit per volley. It's just not accurate in the lore or for immersion. It makes all the wood elf voice overs seem like lies.

yeah, better let them extremly OP right?,

you know what lore says too?, thats archaon or grimgor can kill thousan of people in a single battle, the chaos warriors no need to eat or rest, so why an upkeep?.

lore also say that Mazdamundi can destroy a entire city just moving his hand, shall we include that too?.

wood elves have the best archers in the game, thats fair, that enought.

Volley fire makes individual accuracy redundant; furthermore, indirect fire means that the shooters generally don't even see their targets properly. That said, the wood elves are still some of the most potent ranged troops in the game.

If its just accuracy we're after, let's not ignore the fact that longbows can't even shoot all that far. Constructs and war machines would just shrug off arrows and handgunners would obliterate elven archers before the archers could get so much as a shot off (since even the most primitive guns easily out ranged bows when fired in volleys).

Give tree large units an 30m forest aura so they get forest bonus and are protected vs enemy large units due to forest penalties. Price of tree large units will be adjusted. Do this and WE are good again.

That would actually be a bit handy. The whole 'Fight better in the woods' deal with some units is so vastly Niche and situational.
