The worst problem to me in the new ancestral update is that you have not fixed a proplem that almost all the mods have and that seriously destroyes the point in this update.

The family tree does not work mainly because you can not develope you carachters because of the time.
Time moves so fast in Rome 2 that all the caracters end up dying of old age befaore thay are seriously developed.
Almost all the mods have made it so that the game speed is slower by adding 12 turns per year and slower research.
Also income and building have been sloved down. At that point caracters will live longer relative to the rest of the games speed and you can actually develope them.

If you dont fix it the mods will but I kinda feel that it's a bit stupid for game developer not to fix this cind of a gameplay issue that still persists after 5 years since the game was released.

I believe it’s already working as the designers have intended and doesn’t need fixing. This is completely down to personal preference, and just as the you’ve said; people can just use a mod to change it if they wish.

Currently working on a whole lot more, stay tuned.

I ´m having the same opinion as Benjin. Its intended and i prefer 1tpy. New Generals live at least 45-50 turns. Thats long enough for me and is needed for a real political struggle with new generals with new traits.

The Grand Campaign is designed and intended to cover a large span of time and it would hardly be Grand with more than 1 turn per year (the last is personal opinion). Try to explore your gameplay options and you will find that there are new ways to gain experience, level up and develop your generals, mainly via the new agent skills we have introduced.
