Politics Suggestions

The politics system and family tree looks great. I do have a couple suggestions. One is to have the game end when all family members die. This will really make players care more about their generals and family members and take care to ensure the lineage is taken care of either through birth or adoption.

Secondly, I would suggest adding some variance to the character portraits. Right now, they all look relatively the same and this makes it difficult to really care about the characters. In Rome 1, characters aged, had different skin tones, some had helmets, others did not. Making characters more recognizable would be a great addition.

Keep up the good work!

I 100% agree and I would add also the suggestion to give a unique skin to faction leaders
My favorite factions in TW titles:
Rome 1 - House of Julii
    Medieval 2 - Milan
    Empire - UK
    Napoleon - France
    Shogun 2 - Tokugawa
    Rome 2 - Macedon
    Attila - Western Roman Empire
    Warhammer - Empire (Karl Franz)
    Three kingdoms - Sun Jian

Thank you for the suggestions. Having the game end when your dynasty ends is a decision that I personally like, however it would significantly change the game flow and I don't think that most users would be happy about it. In a possible future release, I would add it as a gameplay option or a difficulty feature.

As for the portraits variety, we did add some new general vmds, apparently not enough ( :

Whether or not we add more depends on the amount of critical issues we have to fix. As for the unique leader models, that would be just too time consuming at this point. Keep in mind that it wouls need to be done for the majority of the playable factions across all campaigns.

A toggle before starting the campaign in the campaign options would be really cool indeed, it would also be available at any difficulty (but please, don't merge this feature with the realistic mode toggle because I personally don't like much that feature)

as a side note, you can make a system that avoids similar portraits or clone portraits to appear in the family tree unitl the character with that portrait is still alive.

as for future updates, please make them a reality, Rome 2 is becoming a great game and I personally think DLCs will sell well :)

If you do in a future release, please consider the gameplay option (click a small box to get it or not) Difficulty in Total war just mean buff AI in economy and stats, not making it smarter somehow so this option would not worth it for me.

@Benjin is doing aged generals but he would need proper modding tools. I think it would release load of work for you CA members just helping this guy in whatever he needs as it is an enormous job.

Modding tools like the ones in Attila would be so much apreciated by us :)
