[Suggestion] AI sending diplomats to player

ichbinmeichbinme Registered Users Posts: 32
Hi all,

I checked the subforum for this suggestion and could not find any mention of it. Sorry if I missed anything.

Sending diplomats to other factions is a great new feature of Rome II. It would be fantastic if AI also utilizes this. I don't know how hard it would be to implement but slaughtering AI diplomats to threaten enemies - or just for fun! - would be hilarious.

I hope we can see this in full release or later.

Othan than that I have to say I really enjoy playing with new features. Thanks for keeping Rome II uptodate and fresh.

I really like that idea actually. It'd be nifty little way of adding a bit of narrative to how factions engage in diplomacy with each other. I could imagine it working just like internal dilemmas within your own faction do.

Let's say you're playing as Rome and a diplomat from Massilia turns up. You're then given a few options on how to interact with him and affect your relations with Massilia; just exchange diplomatic formalities, spend some gold to throw a big party and improve relations with Massilia, insult him to worsen relations, or chuck the guy off a balcony, causing a big diplomatic penalty with Massilia and goading them into war.

Hi all, thanks for the suggestions.

We have discussed adding similar behaviour from the AI with the design team. We won't have the time to implement the feature so close to release, unfortunately.

Still, thanks for the feedback, we appreciate it :)

Maybe other features like doing a favor, flirting etc. may also be used by AI. Giving the player the feel of AI being less artificial would increase the immersion.
