So I've continued testing, and still, not one time has my faction leader successfully made a child with a foreign queen. Is this going to be a function that hasn't been implimented yet? Has anyone successfully had children by a foreign queen? Is it only meant to be a diplomatic bonus? It sort of breaks the game for me because my family dies when my leader dies. I can have kids if I "seek wife" but I would love to marry a foreign queen. It's Massallia, that's kind of their whole M.O.

1 · Disagree AgreeIMO, CA could expand this option in future updates. For example, if your king has a child with a foreign queen, then their son may claim the leadership of both faction. When the queen dies, you will annex her faction. However, some foreign armies will refuse to join you and you will have to defeat them.

That's what I loved about Medieval 2, you can't just stomp whoever you want into the dirt, you'll get excommunicated and everyone will come for you. That's what happened to the Macedonian Diodachi, he just started conquering without any real reason; so all these nations, including Rome, banded together and destroyed Macedon.
It could be the same way with marriage. If both parents died, then your son would have claim to both nations, but there'd be this massive civil war over it, OR, you'd get a casus belli to invade. That would make for a much much slower game, but I think a much much more enjoyable/satisfying game.
