The Druchii : best thing ever

Hello folks ! How are you all doing !?

I just have to share my EXTREME excitement with you all about my latest campaign as the Dark Elfs in the Vortex (2nd Vortex ever done, I always do ME, and wow .. I forgot how beautiful the Vortex campaign is!) .

I am just BLOWN away by the Dark Elfs. THis is the first time in my 2.000 hours of playing that I play as the Druchii. I can say I found my top 2 favorite faction, or maybe even No. 1. Anyways, there offence possibilities are so advancement compared to the other races and Malekith, the With King of Naggaroth is a beast.

The Dark Elfs have some of the best lores of magic available to them, Fire, Shadow, Dark, Death and Beast. This makes for some AWESOME gameplay especially for RP reasons !

The many many different generic lord choices make for a different army every time.

Units, so many units to choose from who are viable still in the later game. There are SOOOO MANY strong units to look forward to in the Dark Elf campaign. Just to name a few :

The Black Guard of Naggarond : I am in LOVE with Elite Halberd units, who are good at killing. There are only a few of those type of elite halberd units in the game, and I can say together with The Temple Guard, this is my favorite elite infantry unit in the game. Its AL powers are insane.

The With Elfs : For once a VERY STRONG and useful flanker/ambush unit ! awesome ! Its poison is very useful, and it decimates infantry units. Love them, especially for Role-Play reasons (Morathi her army !)

The War Hydra : Wauw !! The monster units from the Dark Elfs are some of the best I have seen in the entire game. There monster choices are simple, effective and uber uber cool ! The War Hydra kills infantry, its fire attacks is strong and you can use it 3 times !

The Black Dragon : Just as epic as any dragon from the HE roster, if not more so ! just a beast !

The Doomfire Warlocks : I was very much looking forward to using those guys and I was NOT disappointed at all. They KILL, if you use there spells wisely available to them, they get easily 100 + kill count in my armies. So very much worth it ! especially since the Druchii could have used something in the cavalry department.

The Sisters of Slaughter : What do I need to say ? just wauw and EPIC ?

The Kharibdyss : A very welcome addition to the roster. Group them together with some hydra's and they ruin the enemy !

These are just a few out of my head, there are more ! Like the Har Ganeth units, these guys are the nightmare of any infantry unit.

Anyways,

The legendary lords available to the Dark Elfs are also EPIC. The coolest LL have made it in my eyes as playable lords. Malekith is super strong as we all know. His melee abilities are fearsome, his mounts is epic and his casting abilities and spells are very fun and well thought of.

Morathi .. wauw ! I have seen some complaints about her in the past and I don't see why. She is one of the better lords in the game in my eyes. Her mix of spells is VERY inventive, very strong and extremely useful. Her DEEP WoM pool lets her chain cast, her mount makes her REALLY FAST !! I got 132 speed with her, its amazing. And then her Legendary Item. The debuff is powerful, and makes her into a decent/strong melee lord.

Her skill tree is very powerful too, with mighty buffs and a good range of personal skills. I find Morathi one of the more invested lords created by CA. Very well done, she is truly amazing. never change her.

Hellebron. well She is just stunningly powerful.

All in all, The Dark Elfs are amazing.

To end this post, let me share my super exciting and best role play army I have ever made ! Its SUPER FUN, I would recommend using this yourself one time :D:D !! There it goes :

Morathi - 2x Death Hags - 5x The Black Guard of Naggarond - 3x With Elf (1 RoR) - 3x Doomfire Warlock (1 RoR) - 3x War Hydra - 3x Kharibdyss

Truly TRY IT !! EPIC EPIC EPIC !! The Death hags and Morathi serve as a 'coven' and 1 death hag has a debuff armour piece (- MA en MD, helm of discord) and the other has a very powerful weapon with allows for +40% WS and AP so she is a lord killer. When they gang all 3 togother on somebody, they massacre ! Morathi is a mix of both of the 2 death hags, so its all RP ;)

I love those things personally, make little stories and like to reflect this on my armies.

Anyways, The Dark Elfs 10/10. Strongest faction in the game in my eyes.

    I love your excitement!

Personally I have a hard time playing the Druchii. Simply because I can't stand Naggarond. The entire continent is just one big Chaos Wastes-lite. I also have a hard time liking any of their elite infantry. I just don't find any of the Executioners, Black Guard or two variants of Witch Elfs to be my cup of tea aesthetic wise.

If the Dark Elves do get Lokhir I might have the most fun I can reasonably have with the Delfs as he'd likely buff my favourite Delf unit the Black Ark Corsairs.

I've only ever played them once (when we were all under the impression it would get the Kharibdyss released!), and I was pretty impressed with how lethal they are and how easy to use.

    Thank you friend !

Aaa really ??? Well in the end it all comes down to personal tast right ? The units just have to feel right. With kind of units are your preferable style ? For example, I love the 'Royal Army' kind of units. Heavy armour, beautifully decorated and a certain theme style to it. Like The Temple Guards, EPIC. So what are your kind of units ? :)

Lokhir Fellheart becomes more likely by the day with the coming DLC, the dream might become true one day ;) !

Yes indeed, very easy to use and SUPER lethal. They are the most 'warlike' faction in the game (in my opinion) and this reflects in there armies, rites and entire theme of the faction itself.

There buffs, units and lore's of magic are all so destructive. You can WIPE your enemy away in a crazed, furious death frenzy.

DE are the strongest faction in the game. They have all tools to win in MP. If they get Malus with ability of making cold ones not rampage they will be nearly invincible.

Havent been playing as Morathi alot but when the AI presents an army similar to yours i round up some slave spears, the stormvermin, globes and warpcannons. Doomfire warplocks are annoying. Sacrifice a spear unit on them, morale bomb them with globes and finish with stormvermin. You will get casualitys. Then its swarming the heroes with spears and send in assassins. If you are blessed with a doomwheel just let it knock those mages around until your assassins arrive. DE mages are very soft yes yes. In the meantime you've sacrificed 300+ slaves on swarming the Hydra's while the warp cannons zap them. When all hydraheads are buisy eating slaves send in globes, then stormvermin. Your army is a very late build one and skaven have a hard time getting there fast, but single enity armys are not a problem for skaven even mid game :)

You should really give her a try, she is super well made.

And you are right, Skaven can deal plenty with single entity monsters etc, and could win from this army ;) ! Role play armies are not always the most efficient, but luckily that ain't any problem in Singleplayer. And it does the Job wel, I am lacking Missile in this army, it could use it really well, because they would become 10 times better with them, but I dont want to ;) I find the fun part more important if you know what I mean :)

Yeah dark elves are a fun army to play. They are sort of easy mode at the start, and you can play them extremely defensive or very aggressive. They have the best of both worlds, and they tend to Do well vs all races. They struggle a bit vs high elves (it’s a pretty even match up) and vs lizardmen they can struggle early game since saurus own any basic troops from most factions. But by the time you reach lizardmen, you should have access to black guard, which as you say are amazing. And lizards tend To bring a lot of large units, so blackguard do well against them.

My personal favourite is executioners. They never seem to disappoint, and I’ve had battles where 4-5 units of them have all had 150-200 kills each. They really put out some pain, especially when backed by a hag on blood cauldron, and some debuff magic on the enemy units.

All in all I like druchii because they let you set the pace of battle. The enemy has to play reactionary/defensively, which means you can usually control the battle.

But it’s Good to see another dark elf lover. They really are great. Too easy once you get used to them, as the AI in campaign isn’t very bright in battle. But that’s ok. Still a fun faction.

Well, I wish they will add Witch Elves at some point. Because those guys who cosplay them are an odd sight.

Yes, overall Dark Elves are pretty fun to play. Not as fun as High Elves though.

It's one of those things that I'm kind of annoyed by. Lizardmen are my absolute favourite race in WHFB, but they rank the lowest on campaign fun due to blessed spawnings being screwed and heavy saurus builds being so insanely powerful.

Dark elves have been my favourite experience by far. Everything has a role. EVERYTHING. The rites are all great fun and while black arks are frustrating due to how useless they are in the beginning (AI's streamline towards them and kill them before they get any units) they make invading provinces fun when you get them kitted out.

Malekith is just an insanely fun lord too, and I've only dabbled into Morathi and Hellebron but they didn't disappoint in what I played.

Wow I'm loving the DE as well. Hellebron is my favourite LL now, Witch elves and SoS are melee blenders and the Hags are death on wheels.

Nobody forces you to play with saurus. I think that precisely because of them Lizardmen are new players friendly. Them being weaker would not exactly fit their lore and theme, yes?

The High Elves are my favourite but the Dark Elves have a wonderful playstyle.

The RoR War Hydra is AMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAZING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It looks EPIIIIIC too ! The frost theme, and the blue/white colour is sooo marginalizing. He is my show piece in Malekith's army. His Frost breathe attack is outrages strong to. Really way stronger then the normal war hydra. Somehow the breath works a bit as a spray/missile projectile. Amazing. It kills so many !

Well the Delfs have a roster which suits me just fine. They can do some kickarse melee infantry and missile infantry backed up by monsters for different tasks. I’m just not fond of their part of the campaign map or their general aesthetic.
