Unlinking mount requirements will also free up some skill points which is good.

Missed that part, good to know! Always hated wasting points on unwanted mount.
Mounts should worked more like items and/or be based on currency only, but it was a improvement.

The Empire still hasn't gotten their FLC LL. We need Marius Leitdorf of Averland!

Where is Boris Todbringer? Have you seen him? For a Middenland DLC with Boris and the Ar-Ulric!

Every wrong is recorded. Every slight against us, page after page, ETCHED IN BLOOD!

Queek could smell their hatred, ratcheted to a degree that even he could not evoke in their simple hearts. He stepped over the old orange-fur’s body, eager to see for himself what it was they saw. But he heard it first.

I don't think that most players consider a mere save more important than a skill trees update. :)
Right? I've been playing PC games since the late 80s and I don't think I've ever seen a company use breaking saves as an excuse to avoid patching until this series, lol. I mean good god, it's just save. The value isn't in the save it's in the program itself.

Some of the LL lost their unique skills in the festag update. Will they make a comeback?

    Missing skills
    Volkmar: 50%CD reduction for B,prayers

Grombrindal: Flashbang, 10MD+10AP for army while defending

Isabella: Most of her old Army tree was unique

Funny, but it's looks like in Total War: Three Kingdoms even iconic mounts can be looted, and in Total War: Warhammer Trilogy Unique Items are obtained in different way than Non-Unique Items.

But those will still be just horses, I doubt Grimlock, Deathclaw or most of the other unique mounts could be used by anyone other than the LL they are assigned to. And many of the normal mounts are faction specific anyway, so doesn't really make sense for them to be anywhere else.

You right about Grimlock and Deathclaw, but some "faction specific" limits can be extended in Total War, as Arkhan and Alarielle rosters in Total War had shown already, anyway as I said before, Total War: Warhammer Trilogy already have an Unique Item Type, so CA can make it work.

If I instal the beta how does this work when it is out of beta ?? Does it automatically switch to the out of beta version or do I need to do something?

Having checked it out it doesn’t look half bad. I do wonder why some of the yellow line skills are now two points though. Did we really need more streamlining? I haven’t felt starved for points.

Well the level cap of 'game 2' is higher, and that's one of the reasons behind that change.

I've been playing games and programming since the mid-70's, and not seen what you're inferring. A little more info justifying the statements might be useful to the discussion.

Terrible news if so as this leaving beta decreases the chances of essential lord pack arriving before threekingdoms when it is already late and should have been with the last update. Please explicitly answer this question is it going to arrive before threekingdoms so am able to either rage or rejoice now rather that later. Nobody should be liking this post at least if they have knowlege of what it might well mean.

I couldn't care less about some lord pack when I can get important bugfixes and balancing updates instead, so I very much like that post :p
So by extension you don’t care about balance at least in the thankfully shorter term.

    What I'm inferring?

No inferring, just flat out agreeing with someone who said "most players don't consider a mere save more important than a skill trees update".

The statement side of my comment was that I cannot recall ever seeing a company use breaking saved games as justification to not patch/improve their product until CA went hold-out on the red trees.

The good news is that they decided to go ahead and update the red trees finally. And it's awesome. And I appreciate it. I hope the old-world race update train keeps on chuggin' along.

@Itharus Thanks for your reply. I think I may have read your response meaning wrong. I agree with with your comment about skill updates versus saving save games.

    Thanks.

So far love the patch, except for Wood elves.. their AI seems to be broken, they are not doing a single, bloody thing in the whole campaign except for standing in their forest cities.

Also, would be good to fix war coordination asap, because military alliances are totally broken right now.

While technically that would be lore appropriate, I'm assuming it is a bug. Hopefully fixed before it leaves beta.
Actually it's intentional, because it's lore appropriate and it help stopping a Wood Elves Tide.

I have been playing the beta and noticed that once I open the diplomatic menu I can't move the camera at all.

    Anyone else with this issue?
  • michaeltranmichaeltran Registered Users Posts: 16
Actually the Wood Elves tend to do that only in the early phase of the campaign. In the lategame they do go out and if they win they can expand very far. In my current game Wood Elves do hold some provinces in Bretonnia and in the south

Does anyone know if achievements work with the coast beta?

Really happy that CA is willing to break old saves to make the game better. Months/years down the road, when we are still playing this series, no one will care about old saves but everyone will appreciate the new red trees.

Yeah it's busted. The war target interface is busted too.

Someone said that if you zoom all the way out into the strategic map you can select individual armies and provide war targets that way. I have not actually tried it yet, but it sounds legit.

Looks like the Beasts of Chaos are finally getting a Chaos Wastes Attrition Immunity, which is fitting, and it's can also be a hint for the big focus on the Chaos Wastes in Total War: Warhammer 3.

Chaos Wastes are within the northern section of the unrevealed map area that also includes the Dark Lands, so... that's not any surprise, really. They would not limit the map to just the Chaos Wastes as that would exclude basically everything other than Chaos from the game. Which would be a spectacular flop.

I am dissapointed with new Empire and Dwarf red skill trees. They were perfect. Empire had one skill for infantry, one for knights horse cavalry, one for arty and one for top tier beasts like demigryphs and tanks. And what now?! I do not see any logic. Dwarfs had good stamina skill, one skill for most of the infantry, one for arty and one for choppers. And now there is no logic aswell. Vampire Counts got the best red skill tree now in my taste. Greens are good aswell.

Look at hammeres +24% dmg and 5 more attack. They just smash every thing + arty gain more dmg and ammo. Dwarf changes are great.

Same to empire arty, demigryph get attack dmg def, but greatswords looks less effected.

Bombers get 33% more models, 2 more base ammo, so with tech it end in 6 number. 2 squad in early game now is okay, especially in siege.
And handcanon zombi 160 models with 40 AP dmg so summary it 6k dmg in 10 sec.
WW had 2k dmg in 10 sec and it highest ranged dmg squad
