Solutions to reduce end turn time in Vortex and ME without upgrading your CPU, suitable for laptop

redfiskyredfisky Registered Users Posts: 1
Cut a long story short, I have i7 8750h (OC to 3.9~4GHz), 16 gb ram and GTX 1060 6gb. After some optimizations I can get <=20 seconds in vortex and <=35 seconds in ME.

I will list some mods, software and setting tips below.

Mod:

Faster End Turns (Reduced AI Diplomacy Offers)

ME Turn-Time Destroyer
2.https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1574300248&searchtext=end+turn+time

Software:

Intel XTU, slightly reduce 'core coltage offset' and increase 'turbo boost power max' and 'turbo boost short power max' then click 'Apply', better use stress test to check if your pc or laptop is stable after changes.

Throttlestop, better follow instructions, turn off 'BD PROCHOT' to prevent CPU from downclock (but plz be sure not to overheat your cpu, especially laptop)
2.https://www.techpowerup.com/download/techpowerup-throttlestop/

Bitsum, similiar to CPUCores but free, use performance mode when gaming
3.https://bitsum.com/

Settings and gaming:

1.In campaign map, turn off all other faction movements except yours.

2.Eliminate enemies as fast as you can, tfewer factions, faster end turn time.

Also after using MSI Afterbunner I found out that in campaign map the game only utilizes one core thus my cpu is runing in 4GHz, but in battle the game utlizes almost all the cores which reduces stutter and lag when units engage with each other.
Dear CA fellows shold really improve campaign engine now...

I'm not an english native speaker, so apologize for any misspelling. Hope this post can help you guys who do not have 8700k or i9 but still want to enjoy this fantastic game.

Ifound that fewer factions do not decrease the turn time significantly when they are replaced by huge single factions that take quite some time to finish

This is one of the dumbest mods ever made that does the exact opposite of what it claims.

Anyone that has ever played a Warhammer campaign will know that end turn times are the lowest at the start of a campaign. That is because small AI factions have to take a lot less things into consideration when planning their next moves. They will do diplomacy with only a handful of factions, have only one or two possible attack targets, almost no agents and only 1-2 armies.

Grouping small factions into a big one is what dramatically increases end turn times. This is why the majority of people quit playing their campaign when the large empires start to form.

It is true that turn times are better at the start. That being said, this has reduced them for me.

SSDs are highly recommended to reduce long load times. If you don't have an SSD, buy a portable SSD for $100 or less.

    Load times, yes.
Turn times on the other hand get little benefit from an SSD

Considering you can take over a minute to load with a poor system, they can be substantial improvements.

Was my solution, and it works so so well for Warhammer 2 and battlefield 5.

I had to buy a handbreak for my chair ;)
