Game 3 lore question: who does Khorne particularly hate?

ThomassiniThomassini Registered Users Posts: 1,151
Hi everyone. I have a question for our loremasters.

Since, if I understand correctly, in the lore each Chaos God has a faction or group of factions who he hates MORE THAN OTHERS (they are Chaos Gods after all...), we get more or less this conclusion:

Nurgle hates Undead in general and Nagash and Vampires in particular for being the antithesis of life, which he tries to preserve in absolutely any form;

Slaanesh hates Elves in general and High Elves in particular for, well, being Elves? As if we needed any other reason to hate them;

Tzeentch hates Order races in general and Lizardmen in particular for being the epitome of stagnation and lack of change;

And Khorne... Who does Khorne hate? Being lover of blood spilling and war, it comes to me as natural that he would hate any pacifist nation with passion; do we have anything even remotely close to this in Warhammer setting? Halflings maybe?

Anyway, what does lore have to say on this?

    Any living creature without a skeleton I'd guess. Because skullz.

    I like to think Khorne hates everyone equally. He's an equal opportunity hater.

    Cowards of any kind would probably top the list, though. So he ought to hate Skaven especially.

    Magic users, cowards and the old Khorne hated those who attacked the weak, new Khorne not so much.

    Also does Khorne like Queek? Does Nurgle like Lord Scrolk?

    Khorne hates magic. And he (it?) has a well-reported hatred to all things Slaneesh. Khorne also hates menopause, because it gives his skulls osteopenia.

    Khorne also hates Miley Cyrus in particular and feels that pop music is formulaic and unimaginative. He prefers speed metal to anything else, but doesn't mind a bit of thrash.

    Tzeentch likes electo-punk and house music. I hear he's also a bit of a Dizzee Rascal fan.

    Papa Nurgle quite likes funeral doom, but his favourite stuff will make even the most hardcore dissonant death metal fan's ears vomit.

    Slaanesh quite likes Miley Cyrus. That's why Khorne hates Slaanesh in particular.

    Also does Khorne like Queek? Does Nurgle like Lord Scrolk?

    Well in Warhammer 40,000 it was outright said that Khorne was impressed by Orks, so I see I think that Queek might impress Khorne as well, Queek is quite impressive, especially for a Skaven, also the Skaven was confirmed to be a Chaos Mutants in any case, similar to the Beastmen, the Skaven was just ignorant about it until the End Times.

    Is the relationship between the horned rat compared to other DoC explained? It seems to me that the Skaven and Beastmen are almost like Protestants and Catholics, same religion just different journeys to the end goal.

    The Horned Rat is a Lesser Chaos God, he is still a small-time player by Chaos Standards. :)

    As far as the Chaos gods go, Khorne and Slaanesh hate each other and Nurgle and Tzeentch hate each other. I mean, they all don't like each other, but those are their opposite pairs.

    The Witch Hunters suspect that Miley Cyrus is Slaaneshi Cultist, but a further investigation is needed.

    Khorne doesn’t distinguish between victims. As long as they are killed in His name, or not, he’s a happy, jovial guy to be around.

    Although he has a particular hatred of tzeentch, or anyone that uses sorcery. Not bloody and skully enough for him.

    You're half right, but every Chaos god is a metalhead:

    Khorne: thrash metal
    Tzeentch: power metal
    Nurgle: doom metal
    Slaanesh: hair metal

    Shouldn't he hate Tzeentch more than slaanesh, given that the former is the god of goddamn sorcery? Also scheming art guy vs angry hulk and ugly rotting guy vs sexy pleasure god seem to be the more antagonistic match ups.
    Well, it is how it is.

    Change vs Stagnation is pretty straightforward as well. Not like Nurgles followers are meant to be ugly, in fact they consider themselves beautiful as they are and their appearance stops mattering.

    And it's not like Khorne can't hate more than one person. Just that mindless carnage doesn't fit at all with mindless debauchery which Slaanesh engages in. Can't fight unrestrained if you're seeking greater peaks of pleasure. Khorne can't take skulls from those who refuse to die because there are greater highs still to reach. At least Tzeentchs followers can grow themselves more heads if needed.
    Furthermore, I consider that Daemon Prince must be removed.

    Well one might say that Khorne also represent masculine type of attractiveness and that's why some players might be little surprised by Slaanesh being the main rival of Khorne, but then again Slaanesh tend to be referred more commonly as a male than as a female, so Khorne thinks that Slaanesh is too much of a sissy, and who Khorne's main rival among the Chaos Gods doesn't matters that much in the end of the day, because Khorne have enough reasons to hate each of the other Chaos Gods.

    Thinking about it.. seems certain that the Beastmen will get a unit upgrade in WH3 as there are Beastmen that gain the gifts of some of the chaos gods.

    Would certainly make their roster more interesting.

    Tzeentch is the god of change and evolution while Nurgle is the god of decay and stagnation, so they're polar opposites. Khorne meanwhile is all about upfront and brutal confrontation while Slaanesh is more about sadistic pleasure and secretive plots.

    Tzeentch had also been able to hide his acts against Khorne better than Slaanesh, like when Tzeentch had manipulate Skarbrand to attack Khorne, Tzeentch had trolled Khorne without consequences.

    This is Tzeentch "He is the God of Fate, plots, and schemes, as well as the God that exemplifies the ever-changing nature of the Warp."

    This is the one I will not name "Is the Lord of Pleasure, the Dark God dedicated to the pursuit of earthly gratification and the overthrow of all decent behaviour, as well as hedonism and pleasure for its own sake."

    Hi everyone. I have a question for our loremasters.

    Since, if I understand correctly, in the lore each Chaos God has a faction or group of factions who he hates MORE THAN OTHERS (they are Chaos Gods after all...), we get more or less this conclusion:

    Nurgle hates Undead in general and Nagash and Vampires in particular for being the antithesis of life, which he tries to preserve in absolutely any form;

    Slaanesh hates Elves in general and High Elves in particular for, well, being Elves? As if we needed any other reason to hate them;

    Tzeentch hates Order races in general and Lizardmen in particular for being the epitome of stagnation and lack of change;

    Nurgle hating undead...Zombie Plague "The plague was a necrotic microorganism that physically degenerated those it infected, causing their skin and internal organs to rapidly rot until the moment of "death" at which time the Chaos energy within the virus reanimated the victim's corpse as a "zombie" whose only remaining drive was to feed on living flesh and so spread the infection."

    He who must not be named "hates Elves"..." Slaanesh was not content with the souls he had harvested in the moment of his birth. He continued to seek out the remaining Aeldari, savouring the succulent taste of each soul he claimed."

    Tzeentch hating order and lizard men..."Tzeentch is aware of the visions and plans of all mortals in the galaxy. He takes great delight in the plotting and politicking of others and favours the cunning over the strong. When the inner voice in a man's head speaks, when the desperate whisper their prayers into the night, it is the Architect of Fate that listens. He perceives every event and intention, and from this information, his mighty mind can work out how each will influence the future. The intertwining latticework of probability, hope and change is Tzeentch's meat and drink -- without it he would eventually fade away."

    Khorne..."He is wrath incarnate, the embodiment of a never-ending lust to dominate and destroy. It is his sole desire to drown the galaxy in a tide of slaughter, to conquer and kill every living thing until there is nothing left but spilt blood and shattered bone."

    But this must also be known as well..."Khorne is said to have inherited a martial nobility and honour, and considers the weak and helpless to be unworthy of his wrath."

    Let us see how far your sanity can blind you...

    This is 40k heresy, isn't it? :smile:

    The universes are very similar, the races are similar, but technically the two universes are separate, I should think.
