"Zhatan the Black, Commander of the Tower of Zharr, orders that a thousand swords be made of good black iron, a thousand corselets of ruddy bronze, a thousand arrowheads of 5 shekels of steel and ten thousand of 2 shekels, and that this be delivered to the Fortress of Zharr when the moon is full. Let it be known that Zhatan plunders to the west and returns within the month with slaves for the service of Hashut. So say I, Zhatan the Black, Commander of the Tower of Zharr, Glory to Zhatan, Glory to Ghorth the Cruel, All praise Hashut Father of Darkness."

—Zhatan the Black, Commander of the Tower of Zharr

"I shivered at the sight of her - her beauty far beyond that of mortal man. But her soul glowed with an inner darkness that chilled my very core."

At this point my personal picks for Chaos Dwarf LLS are Astragoth Ironhand (faction leader, pure caster), Shar'tor The Executioner (if they can get him, as a monstrous/cavalry LL), Hothgar the Renegade (ranged/artillery lord) and Drazoath the Ashen (hybrid melee/caster lord).

Zhatan is cool and all but I feel like he's a package deal with Ghorth and I'm sorry, but Astragoth takes the pure caster slot for the Chaos Dwarf lineup, hands down. That leaves little room for Ghorth and by extension Zhatan.

You ever notice how many characters have the moniker 'the Black'? Arkhan, Lietpold, Zhatan. It's almost as common as the word 'grim' as a title or syllable in a name.

Still not as bad as Malus Darkblade or LM names but still.

Haha i love the line about him laughing even louder than the slaves scream. What a lil’ punk! Hope he’s included somehow.. he’d need jazzing up tho. He’d be in danger of bein a normal lord reskin

As cool as Shar'tor would be, I'm pretty sure he's an AoS only character. In fact a lot of hoopla was made about him being FW's first OC character for AoS. Since the license doesn't extend to that IP I think it could be difficult for CA to implement him specifically. I do think the Chaos Dwarfs should have a Bull Centaur LL though.

Yeah, I know, but they've let CA bend the rules before. Here's hoping.

Anyway, if not Shar'tor then my pick is Rykarth the Unbreakable for the pure melee lord, just with more of an infantry focus.

After the addition of Cylostra Direfin, I don't think it's impossible for GW and CA to work together and say that while he's an AoS character he was around before the End Times went down. Doubtful but not impossible.

Was Zhatan the one who went on an absolute rampage at the Great Bastion of Cathay in the End Times and killed a bunch of Greenskin heroes before Grimgor got to him? Or was that Rykarth?

I believe that was Rykarth. I know Grimgor killed him personally, at least.
