So you're saying Greasus should be the strongest lord in TWW in 1 vs 1. I like that idea.

Except that... it really would not represent either his rules or lore. There are many characters who have the "greatest warrior" label (Tyrion, Grimgor, Archaon etc.) as everyone is strongest in their own armybook, but Greasus doesn't even have that... He's a mediocre fighter with a great weapon, just like Karl Franz... In fact Karl Franz is better at killing things, Greasus would only win due to his number of wounds, but there are other montsrous characters with the same advantage (Greater Demons, Kholek, Durthu etc) who also deal equally much or more damage than Greasus, even in a duel.

Making him the greatest warrior would also not make sense from a balance point of wiev, if he also has good support abilities. Just like was said in the thread about Hellebron, the strongest characters are made weaker and the strongest stronger, so that they are at least more balanced compared to each other than in TT.
Oh, Greasus is definitely one of the mightiest warriors in the Warhammer world fluff-wise. In fact, it'd be wierd if he wasn't: He's the most powerful Ogre Tyrant, Ogres respect strength, and generic Ogres are already scarier fighters than some races' lords and heroes.

During the End Times, Greasus actually won his duel with Grimgor. He just got **** afterwards and tried to kill the thoroughly stomped Grimgor stylishly, which Grimgor siezed on to strike a fatal blow.

(On an unrelated note, I really hope Greasus doesn't move at Gnoblar speed like he did on the tabletop. Yes, it makes sense, but it made him useless in-game because the Ogres he was supposed to be buffing all outran him, and sticking him in a unit meant the enemy got more time to shoot your expensive troops to death. Just say his Gnoblar bearers know to move fast because he'll eat them if they don't, or they're amped up on drugs, or something. I don't care, just make Greasus move at Ogre speed please.)

I hate how the lore says they fight for hours. That makes so little sense it's jarring.

I'm sure they'll do him justice. He won't be as powerful as he was on the TT, but he should be right up there in the power rankings.

I'd be okay with him being a top 20 combatant, maybe top 10 I guess. But better than Tyrion, Skarsbrand, etc, who are supposed to be super elite and are only really there to fight, would be pretty jarring given that's only one string in Greasus' bow along with buffs and debuffs.

And yes, he does need that slow movement speed for lore reasons, logic (does it look like those Gnoblars are having an easy time?), and because it actually makes him more interesting in gameplay terms (e.g. as a tanky roadblock to protect a gunline rather than typical Ogre zerg tactics).

So how powerful do you think he should be relative to the other Ogre LLs?

I'd have Ghark as the most powerful melee LL. Greasus should have some good buff auras, be able to take a yuge amount of damage and dish it out. Overall he should be the most expensive.

Depends how fast he moves though.
