Hard to say out of those four alternatives. Could be Ogres as I expect them to feel a bit different than what we are used to. Thought it really depends on the implementation.
I thought I was going to play lots and lots of Skaven when TWW2 launched. Turned out I wasn’t too enamoured with the gameplay and haven’t played them that much.
They are the only race where I did an Easy Vortex run just to unlock the movies with minimal effort.
Lord of the Undermountain and your friendly neighbourhood giant (Dwarf)
..... It is possible we will get DoW as the 4th roster (maybe Kislev pre-order?) as they had an army book. But Daemons definitely, N'Kari should be really interesting and seeing a Great Unclean One waddling about will be priceless.
The tanky infantry and great artillery that Dwarfs are known for, but with their roster gaps like cavalry and monsters filled in. That sounds perfect to me.
Hard choice. Kislev, if the roster gets expanded. If it doesn't, then Ogre Kingdoms for sure. Chaos Dwarfs will depend a lot on how well their aesthetic is pulled off and how much they have to rely on Greenskin units. If they were done very well they could maybe edge out Ogres.
Daemons dead last.
I assume they'd flesh out Kislev if they were making them a core race. They'd pretty much have to, but hard to say how much they'll give them. They'd at least get some bear units, 2 LLs, and the lore of ice.
My fear is it'll end up like the fan roster that's out there where they flesh Kislev out with nothing but bears. Bear cav, bear packs, giant bears, etc, etc. My personal hope is Kislev gets a few "spirit of the land" type units to round things out.
^^Agreed! A large part of the appeal to Kislev for me are the Russian military parallels....which in multiple instances came down to “General Winter” being their best commander. As such, I’m much more interested in seeing various ice/snow/ethereal based monsters rather than JUST bears. I’d like to see other ideas incorporated as well, like Cossacks, Varangians, separate from the fantastical based stuff too.

Just like real Russian military history!
I joke, but I agree with you. Ice elementals and stuff seem like a no brainer, but I still want my bear cavalry! Again, just like real Russian history.
SiWI: "no they just hate you and I don't blame them."
Also the certainty of Kislev being core is... well lets just say there is a history of us being CERTAIN of specific things and then there is a lot of anger, some of which has not dispersed still.

What do you mean? Did you not enjoy playing the last campaign pack TEB/DoW? I mean, they sure are worth their salt!

I picked Kislev but will be interested in trying all of them. I like Daemons (except the soul grinder which needs to die permanently offscreen somewhere), I like Ogres (although I always found their cannon chariot to be absolute BS) and I would be interested in trying Chaos Dwarfs out (I just bought a copy of Tamurkhan: The Throne of Chaos so am being introduced to their units)
That being said... I will 100% start with Cathay if that are a core race. I've been hoping for Cathay to become an official faction ever since 7th ed on TT. I'll be so excited if they make it in.
Could sound weird but i'd just first play with one of the Old World factions, namely The Empire or Dwarfs to see any overhauls or updates done to them. Even if they get nothing, would be hell of a challenge among all the new overpowered factions.
Otherwise i'd say Kislev. The other three will be surely very strong.
(I just bought a copy of Tamurkhan: The Throne of Chaos so am being introduced to their units).
This reminds me that one of the greatest tragedies is that Forge World didn't finish their planned line before the End Times. We got Tamurkhan that gave us the Chaos Dwarf list, plus tons of Chaos stuff and some new Empire characters. I just wonder what we would have gotten if it had kept going.

Besides overpriced models.
Yeah. Not just that either, I wish they'd have updated Brettonia, Beastmen and Skaven to 8th edition before the end times as well. Would have been nice to have completed the edition for everyone before destroying the world. More reasons (if any more were needed) as to why the end times were stupid.

I hear you. Playing a bunch of angry lizards when chaos drops sounds fun too.
Can't wait to play ogre kingdoms, my favorite race! A lot of people seem to think that they'll be very one-dimensional because of their charge heavy playstyle, but i have faith that CA will make them just as interesting and as any other race, and give them a roster fit for many different tactics.
Stating opinions as if they're facts in your signature and adding "Change my mind" doesn't make them facts, change my mind.

They’re no different than any other force really. Just slightly more monster melee focused than some. But they could be good fun on the battlefield and campaign map. I can’t see what kind of mechanics they’d get which excites me. That means I can be surprised. Hopefully in a good way.

The most exciting part about ogres for me is their firepower! Ogres carrying cannon, Rhino carrying ogres carrying cannon etc etc... Also just the general doofy-ness of ogres & the uselessness of gnoblars.
hobgoblins are a part of the Chaos Dwarfs roster and nothing more. the poll is just fine
You're sadly ignorant of WH lore. Good day.
I must say I really want another Greenskin faction, however this poll is indeed fine because the Hobgoblins would not be a distinct faction in the base game.
I do disagree with people saying it is absolutely impossible for us to get a separate hobgoblin faction. It seems like the perfect FLC faction or Race Pack for game 3. Some hobs on foot, a wide range of cavalry, maybe steal a monster from the Monstrous Arcanum, maybe pull a Frost Wyrm and make something like a Steppe Wyvern. Easy to make though I believe there are more likely candidates.
