New laptop advice.

So next weekend I want to buy a new laptop so I can play Empire happily. The one I'm looking at is about £300.
Question is, is this processor a good one for playing Empire? I know it works best with an i7 but those are way too expensive for me atm.

Will Empire run on that with graphics pretty high without crashing and lagging?

Its Pentium processor AND an INtel HD graphics. Unless your computer was in early 2000s, you won't play Empire "happily" unless you set all the settings down to lowest possible.

Corrected action is the most sincere form of apology.

Unfortunately you will need to spend between 700 to 1000 to buy a decent laptop for gaming. Your major problem is the graphics card.

Low end processors (especially from single cores) can run game applications very easily, but its the graphics card you have to spend your money on.

You will need something more like this

That Pentium belongs to the second half of the 1st Core i-series of CPUs, ie Westmere die shrink of Nahelem architecture. Pentium is now used by Intel to label CPUs below i3 but above Celeron for each generation.

OP should at least get an i5 coupled with a discrete (ie non Intel) graphics card if he wants a decent gaming laptop.

Yeah I realised that would be pretty **** for gaming. Been talking about it with 2 of my friends.
I've now got my eye on this one.

As I said before, your problem isn't the processor (out right) but the graphics card which is the weakest link in laptops.
