Campaign Map Stuttering

Build Number: v1.0.0

I am experiencing quite an annoying stuttering issue within the campaign map (when moving around the campaign map i have constant micro stutters/freezes for about 1 second until i stop moving the camera).

Changing graphical options has no effect on this issue, it is constant.

Specs:
i7-9700K
GeForce RTX 2080
16g Ram
Installed on a M.2 drive and playing on a 144hz monitor.

    I have the same issue.

I've messed around with setting low, high, ultra etc makes no difference. Hasn't solved the problem.

Battles are smooth and the stuttering stops over the fog of war.

    i7-9700K
    GeForce GTX1070ti
    16gb Ram
    On SATA SSD

All drivers are up to date.
I've checked the integrity of the game files.

Please look into this. It's still playable but it does hurt my experience quite a bit.

    Thanks

Same here so i dropped by to find out what CA is doing about it because I'm fully convinced it's the game as I'm running the same hardware listed above by Goose.

It's definitely an issue with the game. If you press K and remove the HUD / UI the problem goes away. Buttery smooth :)

Same here guys and I see loads of people having that issue.Campaign map is laggy and choppy untill I press K to hide UI and then it's smooth.Battles are silky smooth and no problems there.
    I7 8700K
    GTX 1070 8GB
    16 GB 3000MHz
    Samsung Evo SSD
    Win 10 64Bit
Please fix this issue as it kills the fun and immersion for me thanks.

Yeah, the customer is supposed to do the work of the company on an issue anyone who turned the game on and opened up the strategic map layer would experience.

Nice try at pushing the work of the developer onto the customer. While you might for some explicable reason be willing to work for free I don't.

Meanwhile, check out the OP's message, he's provided what you asked for...

Too bad. Your information also being provided might have helped with a faster resolution. Your choice though.

I'm experiencing the same issue. Disabling the UI fixes the stuttering for me too.

I'm also experiencing some random crashes, and unit animations stuttering during siege battles even though the rest of the game is running smoothly (camera, unit responses etc).

Is it just me or is this looking like an Intel problem?

    My own is an i7-7700K.

A lot of Intel users reporting this.

Not an Intel problem, i have the same issue - very bad lag when scrolling the campaign map.

    Ryzen 7 2700x, GTX 1080ti, 16Gb RAM.

It lag is virtually gone, however, if i play in fullscreen window mode.

How to activate fullscreen window mode? I tried in-game windowed mode but i'm still experiencing lag.

Nothing has been solved...I've been waiting for a fix for long weeks now and still haven't played the game yet as I can't stand that silly stuttering...

    Got it, Thanks.

Also, I read up there somewhere that putting in Window mode makes it almost disappear and yes, it works.
Pressing K to take out the UI also works.
  • Gun4HireGun4Hire Registered Users Posts: 32
Window mode doesn't do any good in my case and playing with UI turned off I'll just leave without a comment
  • #224651#224651 Registered Users Posts: 9
The UI turned off was only an observation of course.
Why doesn't windows mode help in your case?

Listen I know that turning UI works a charm because we have been on many forums already and we talked about this issue loads of times if you haven't read others already. And windowed mode doesn't help me just like tons of other players too so I don't really understand what you are asking here? For some people it helps and for some it doesn't.Total War series historically had issues with campaign map stutter if you google it up so not sure why are you so surprised.

I'm new here. I google it up and ended here. I'm asking because if I came across a similar issue and know how to solve it, I could have help you. I don't have the leisure to browse the entire forum and this thread is the only one where a moderator would answer so if I can share my experience to help in any way, I believe I have the freedom to do so. If you don't feel like answering, just don't. But just don't go around passive-aggressively spitting on newcomers because you know more about the problem.
