Bug, How can I fix battle button being greyed out on singleplayer campaign

in Gameplay Issues
All options to start, auto-resolve, or retreat from battle have been greyed for me on a legendary grand campaign. Have tried exit to menu and reloading as well as close the game and reloading. Is there any known fix for this issue
