What do you think are any factions best units for killing strong legendary lords/lords that are not lords themselves?

I think armour piercing ranged units in general are very good at killing single entities, especially but not only if the characters are large targets.

But if you had to pick a single unit to fight a level 40 combat focused Ungrim, Tyrian or Archeon etc what would it be?

CA hates the Empire confirmed. The FLC LL for the new Lord Pack is Gor-Rok. Meaning the Empire still hasn't gotten their FLC LL. And no, moving Balthasar Gelt from Reikland, where he should be, DOES NOT COUNT. If they wanted a LL in the Southern Empire: Marius Leitdorf of Averland or maybe Elspeth von Draken in Nuln...

Where is Boris Todbringer? Have you seen him?

Oh just one unit against one character and not single entity? It's gonna be either chosen with great weapons, phoenix guard or maybe a monstrous anti large specialist like fimir warriors with great weapons.

    Probably some great weapon chosen.

Ranged are good, skirmishers are good but 1v1 they will run out of ammo before doing enough damage. A unit of cavalry that can cycle charge may eventually succeed but nothing wins quickly against a 40 lord.

    Swords of Chaos.

Against Ungrim, cycle charge him into non-existence and giggle that the Slayer King goes out like a bitch.

Against Tyrion or Archaon mounted, you're still **** but at least they'll but up one hellava fight.

Overwhelming number, no matter how good single is, in end, endless and numberless overwhelming all day, sure they might take out few waves, but new flesh endless wave will tired them outs.

    Jezzails.

Jezzails can kill any lord (even foot lords) before they can close the distance.

Without units to screen or terrain to hide behind, Jezzails beat almost anything in a 1 vs 1.

    Obviously jezzails.

If this is a player designed cheeseball character with an uber ward save, there is no unit in the game that can fight any of them mounted, let alone all of them. The only units that come remotely close to being capable of taking down some of them, are relatively useless against others. The only thing you can practically accomplish is to kill an unmounted LL with cycle charges. It's going to be a long time to kill that max ward save, regenerating lord though.

If it's an AI LL, Jezzails probably are the best, but any elite AP unit will work. Especially against Ungrim, Level 40 AI Ungrim wont be much harder to kill than level 1 AI Ungrim is, unless, by sheer dumb luck, the AI has a really good set of items.

Fimir with great weapons have surprised me- because they have fewer models than Chosen they dish out more damage and have more of the unit in contact with the Lord while also not getting constantly batted around by high mass/charge Lord.

Otherwise flying cycle charger or something that can cycle charge doing good damage and tires slowly.

Or just AP ranged with Jezzails, and a few other units doing quite well. Main problem is running out of ammo before the Lord is dead... if you focus fire 2-3 ranged it works but single unit can't do it though theoretically 2 units usually = the cost of a good Lord so it might be close if there is some good terrain to keep the Lord from closing fast.

Yeah I get that I didn't necessarily mean solo kill just do as much damage as possible before dying. Strong but not cheesed.
