Would of thought there'd be a nation south of Egypt, I recall it being a pain at one time for Egypt and lead to them investing in showmanship on the southern Nile.
Nubia you mean. At this time Nubia isn’t independent from Egypt, yet it didn’t stop Ramesses II from depicting himself epicly defeating the Nubians, maybe there was a rebellion, who knows.
Sorry mate, but there's no chance. Antiquity has been overdone anyway and the interest in Bronze Age warfare is extremely niche. A future Mythology Total War is probably the closer we will ever get to Assyrians and New Kingdom Egyptians.

I thought this was the.right time for this thread. Indeed never say never mate.

Like I said, never say never. it eventually happened.
Sadly it will not be the GC map, focusing instead on Egypt, Canaan and Anatolia, a great chunk of the interesting part is left behind. What a waste, to leave the Mitanni, Assyria, Babylon and the Elamites out of the picture. Even the Sea people appear to be out of reach, I suspect they will be the equivalent to Normans/Vikings invasions in Thrones, non playable end game challenge.

See what the Campaign DLC adds to it and how well the game is supported.

Yeah, we can hope. I am curious also about the term used for the DLCs, "Faction" an not "Cutlures", does this mean the DLCs won't add any more cultures ? That would be really bad, if its done on the model of Troy, just adding special characters.

Yes, I thought the faction packs would be new cultures but I imagine they represent a new character for the existing cultures. While there are 3 faction packs there is also a campaign pack which could add a new culture. I'm also unsure of the differences between factions.
Labelling this and pricing it as a full Total War game is, in my opinion, very misleading. 3 cultures, small map scale is more akin to a Saga, also the pre-order incentive is very lame. From the pictures, it seems to be based on the Troy engine, so its more of a Troy 1.5. Very disappointed they didn't do a Bronze Age Total War. I am very worried about the path that CA is seeming to follow, esthetic packs, really ??

How big is is compared to Shogun 2? We do need more info on this.

I agree.
WH has 4 during launch and they are different races.
Pharaoh has having 3 civilizations to choose from is so few.
I dont care about characters... Will each character going have a handful special units of their own which differs them from other characters from the same civilization?

don't look at Warhammer, look at Troy. we have them for the Achaean culture 6 factions , for the Trojans 6 which are completely different from each other. plus the Amazons. I think the concept is the same. we will have 4/6 Egyptian characters but each one will have different armies.
You know if Troy and Pharaoh's map aren't combined in some way, it will be a disappointment.
It would be really fun playing across the Levant and the Arabian peninsula.
If CA going forward, do a linked game map campaign like they do for Warhammer just imagine what games we could get in future and the scale of the maps.

The Arabian peninsula isn't included in the map. It's not an accessible area.

I doubt that is in the plan. One game is based on Homeric Greece of legend, the other is based on a more historically accurate depiction of the BAC. I don't think we will see Greece at all in this game.

Troy is different. It was a battle of 2 civilizations. Do you want Bronze Age to be the same with Troy?
There were other civilizations around during their time period though....

There was different civilisations around during Troy, same for 3K and Shogun. Doesn't impact what they can do with the forces they have chosen. Also doesn't mean that they'd change how the game really plays out, other than changing how the map is shaped and the depth of those areas.

oh don't ask me what i want because i would have chosen anything else.😂
however, I meant that if the base is troy expect a lot of differentiation within the same civilization. look for example Ulysses and Ajax, they are both Achaeans but they play completely different. I believe and hope that we will have the same level of differentiation between Rameses and Seti

What were the other civilizations in Shogun?
I assume they're referring to some of the more unique Clans like the Ikko Ikki or the Otomo clan. At bit of a stretch to call them different civilisations though.
There wasn't really (I guess the Portuguese did get some representation). Yet it's still one of the popular games and even has people asking for Shogun 3 these days. But there's plenty of other civilizations around there, they even make reference to them with the trade nodes. But would the game have been better covering them? Probably not.

There should be an option mid-game instead to choose whom character you want to focus playing forwards...
