Freezes after one turn, recalling saved game

I've played through the basic short victory campaign with West Seaxe. Very enjoyable.
DESCRIPTION OF PROBLEM
Cannot move around screen, image doesn't completely resolve. Can view some green textures in the map (trees, grass), but they have low resolution and aren't rendered well. Unable to access save menu. Cursor is continuously spinning. I can hear music/sound effects, but cannot interact with environment.
REPRODUCTION STEPS
1. Created Steam backup, 2. verified local files, 3. re-downloaded Game-Ready Driver; it's worth mentioning that I'm unable to download the NVidia Control Panel, but probably for some unrelated reason
Relevant files attached. Thanks for your consideration. For now, will keep playing new game with different civ.
