Rules for Rome 2

I got rome 2 a couple days ago, and I just recently tried out multiplayer. I joined a game and was told to use 124 rules. If someone could explain these rules to me, I'd appreciate it.

    What do you mean? You tried to play multiplayer battle? Or you tried to play multiplayer campaign?
