Every time I click to join a game it says my game is not compatible with them.
What could be the issue?

It's either using different mods or a missing or corrupted file. Your modified log should give you a list of all the files that do not match the game manifest, then you would need to find them in your data files and manually remove.

Edit: or it could be that you are on a Mac or Linux and the others are on PCs.

    Thanks for the reply!

I've deleted all the mods and checked the integrity of the game files and it reports that everything is ok.
I use Windows so not that either.

    What else could that be?

Did you check your modified.log after deleting the mods?

Edit: something else it might be, as a long shot, is corrupted or out of date Steam files. You could try clearing your Steam downmload cache after making sure that the modified.log is empty.

    I followed these instructions: https://support.sega.co.uk/hc/en-gb/articles/360001578358-Total-War-How-to-verify-if-you-have-any-mods-and-uninstall-them

And made sure I'm opted out of any betas.

I don't know how to get to modified.log.

Use the Search tool in your Start Menu (Windows 7/8) or Task Bar (Windows 10) and search for ‘%appdata%'
From here go into \The Creative Assembly\Attila\logs
You should then find a text file called modified which can be dragged and dropped into a post here.

By the way, what is your build number?

I've attached the modified file though it's empty.

What do you mean by build number? (if you mean game version then it's 1.6.0.)

And by the way, only the multiplayer campaign is not compatible, regular battles work.

The build number is the series of numbers after the version number. It should read 9824.877030.

Did you clear your Steam download cache?

Are you trying to play with one particular person? If so, it could be his machine that has the issues.

I don't see a build number after the version.

I've checked my steam downloads and there is nothing there if that's what you're referring to.

My fault, the Build Number is below the Version Number.

The build number is as you said.
How do I clear my download cache?

Click the Steam menu at the top left of the Steam Library, select Settings, select Downloads and towards the bottom of the screen is a button that says "clear download cache". Hit it.
