Pretty unlikely, would be stretching for the sake of stretching and there are more loreful combinations, plus its unlikely WE come in any way other than with Beastmen
It could but I could think of many that would be more interesting.
Dwarfs vs Skaven Dwarfs vs Chaos Dwarfs Dwarfs vs Chaos
I'd pin my hopes on Dwarfs vs Chaos Dwarfs personally. You might not have a straight up rivalry on your hands but you would have a racial rivalry that is in dire need of exploration.
Lord of the Undermountain and your friendly neighbourhood giant (Dwarf)
Araloth leading an incursion against the Dark Elves via the World Roots could work. Alternatively, he could be taking on Clan Moulder. Both seem a bit more likely to me.
I think we will see both the Wood Elves and Beastmen, but I think they'll be separate.

I don't think there's much rivalry to explore because the two races have had very little interaction over the years because of the distance between the two and the Chaos Dwarfs have enough trouble simply keeping their slave population under control, afterall the Chaos Dwarfs were almost wiped out when the Black Orcs slaves revolted

Precisely why this is a perfect time to explore that racial rivalry. There's potential there.

There have been noted skirmishes and battles between WEs and Dwarfs in the army books. It would fit. But it would not happen for all the reasons mentioned above, as they are WH1 races.
Any faction can be paired against another. In the tt this was key.
One of the best battle reports white dwarf ever did was with the launch of the 6th edition dwarf book.
Who did they put the dwarfs against? The empire. It was the short changed grudge (and a version of this grudge is in WHTW)
It needs to be pointed out that what people call "cheese" is just playing the game the way it actually exists not in some fictional way they think it is supposed to work.
Malus vs Snikch was one of the most odd pairings ever.
But it is fine as this can easily be done in warhammer. It has always been built around the option to pair anything against anything.

Ariel and Orion have lead incursions against the Dark Elves in Naggarond before. Ariel going off the rails with Dark Magic was a direct result of that incursion. Worldroots open up lots of opportunities for the Wood Elves.

Fun fact High King Thorgrim declared a grudge against the Empire because Emperor Dieter IV refused the aid them against Grom the Paunch, this grudge was lifted when Dieter IV died.
Dieter IV is also the Emperor who moved the Imperial capitol from Nuln to Altdorf and granted Marianburg it's independence.

All the Slanneshi opportunities.Feral Ariel awaits
So...the Light's vaunted justice has finally arrived. Shall I lay down Frostmourne and throw myself at your mercy, Fordring?
