Are the current Italians living Italy were the Ancient Romans of Rome?

    Hi, Not completely, already during the Empire, many immigrants, slaves, and at least twice other peoples settled there and ruled the Western Roman Empire. (Getaes Ostrogoth and later the Germans Lombard peoples.)
