I have been playing Total War for more than a decade, last years focused only in Total War: Warhammer, and I have a problem that a lot of people here seems to address: The lack of realistic victory conditions make the game worse, as it just gets boring after getting four or five complete provinces and it becomes a painting game. We all know it.

Every time I see someone complaining, the answer are always the same: "You do not have to follow these rules", "It is a sandbox", "Stop playing when you get bored", "Make your own rules"... Ok, that is cool. But some of us just like to have some kind of road map, and completing a campaign gives us some sort of accomplishment that we like and we do not want to lost it just because the current victory conditions are boring.

So, what I decided to do? Create the mod I wanted to play. However, it is a really long venture, so I decided to go race by race and spend some time with the community to see that we all can agree in this points.

However, before starting with the points, I want to share some things to prevent unreachable requests: Victory Conditions are bound to factions, not lords, so different lords can not have different objectives in the same faction. Also, I can only modify Normal and Long victory, so no new types of victories can be added. If asking about the mod, it is going to be available as soon as I have clear what I want to achieve.     Analysis

    For both victories, World Tour and Rockin' All Over The World should be deleted, as they do not feel natural.

    For the short victory, no grudge should be passed, as this is the faction of Thorgrim Grudgebearer. Also, Chaos Invasion
    should not be something forced, as the played could finish the campaign before the appearance of Archaon.

    For the long victory, the grudges against Greenskins and High Elves should not be passed. Skaven should neither be
    allowed in the Old World nor in the Badlands.

    I like it. Victory conditions really need a rework in this game. Hopefully they will come in Game III.
    I also think that the victory conditions where you need to control a certain number of enemies' capitals is strange and a bit forced.

    I think that the long victory should focus on something similar than Reikland, as they want basically the same. The only
    appreciable difference is that The Golden Order is able to habitate mountains, but I do not feel like the Empire should
    be conquering the Karaks.

    Analysis

    I think that the short victory is just perfect.

    Rockin' All Over The World should be eliminated from the Long Victory, as it just does not feel natural. I do not think
    that Archaon feels natural neither, but this one is quite hard to balance.

    Analysis

    For the short victory, Chaos Invasion should not be something forced, as the played could finish the campaign before the
    appearance of Archaon.

    I think that the long victory should focus on something similar than Reikland, as they want basically the same. The only
    appreciable difference is that The Golden Order is able to habitate mountains, but I do not feel like the Empire should
    be conquering the Karaks.

    I think that the short victory is just perfect.

    Rockin' All Over The World should be eliminated from the Long Victory, as it just does not feel natural. I do not think
    that Archaon feels natural neither, but this one is quite hard to balance.

    I do not think I can, at least it is not in the same place than the victory conditions are. Also, I do not like to add new text, at it has to be translated to multiple languages or to create some dissonance to the player by seeing different things in different languages.

    Great idea. I want victory conditions overhaul in next patch. At least, CA should remove stuff like conquer random city on other side of the world.

    My most hated victory requirement for any faction is the Skaven one that requires you to have 50% or more Skaven corruption in every province where you hold a settlement. Coupling that with having to hold territory across massive expanses of land makes achieving the victory incredibly grindy and you wind up having to stop expanding once you hit the major settlements target and wait around for an arbitrary AI controlled number to go up. It's massively tedious and the sole reason that I wound up getting the Skaven Legendary completion achievements via the Vortex, rather than Mortal Empires.
