Beastmen Update - Centigor/Minotaur variants?

We all know they need an update across the board, the Beastmen. Both in campaign mechanics and units. We can also relatively agree on the lords that should make an appearance, Taurox and Ghorros. The Doombull lord is intimately connected with the addition of Taurox, but otherwise, there isn't much indicating that we could see more Minotaur or Centigor units. Or is there?

Currently in-game, we have three unit variants of each:
Centigors with spear and shield, greatweapons and throwing axes
Minotaurs with dual axes, shielded ones and greatweapons
+ Gorebull

As for additions, we may look to their 7th edition armybook to get started. As for the Centigors here, we might be in luck. Besides Ghorros and the Centigors themselves, we see that a Centigor can upgrade themselves to a Gorehoof, which has more armour than a regular Centigor. Sounds to me like a pretty good material for a generic Centigor hero. However, in the lore of the Centigor, there is a passing mention of a Centigor Chief. Now that could very well be the Gorehoof as mentioned, but if interpreted liberally, we could say there is material for both a generic Centigor Hero and Lord alongside Ghorros. Besides that there isn't much to go on from what I could find, all the mentioned weapon variants are already in-game. So a lord and a hero, best case scenario, its enough to go full Centigor cosplay-campaign atleast.

When it comes to the Minotaurs though we might be a little more stressed to find new stuff. The Doombull is obvious so we can ignore that for now. One thing that I noted at first was that both the Doombull and Gorebull had the options of taking on either light or heavy armour, but the regular Minotaurs didn't have that, only light armour. Would Minotaurs with heavy armour be something that we could do? If the Minotaurs were Orcs, then the Armoured Minotaurs would be the Black Orcs. Maybe, maybe not. Besides that, there is the mention that a Minotaur from the unit could be upgraded to a Bloodkine. Honestly, I don't know what a Bloodkine is except that it has more armour than a regular Minotaur, so maybe that's a further incentive to add an Armoured Minotaur unit? Beyond that though I couldn't find anything else, but I had this idea in my head of a spear variant of Minotaurs. However, the Great Weapon variant we have is already anti-large, so that might be too similar.

What do you think guys? Can we expect to see any other Centigor/Minotaur units besides the lords?

Their units aren't even bad. They actually play like they should. The campaign is outdated though.

The roster already has the minotaur and centigor units that it should have.

BM need campaign upgrades worse than roster updates.

Like your ideas! I definitely think if Taurox/Ghorros headline a DLC then there's a good chance that thematic units and characters will be added as appropriate.

Were this any other factions I might have agreed with you.

But one of the (many) bigger complaints about the Beastmen was how CA were being stingy cheapskates by reusing the same model to make several variations of units to fill the roster (Gors->Ungors and Bestigors, the 3 Centigor variants, the 3 Minotaur Variants) rather than actually adding in NEW models.

The last thing people want to see more of is EVEN MORE variants of existing units. Generic Lords? Yeah sure I can roll with that, they need them badly. But if it's units, we need Ghorgons, Jabberslythes, and Preytons. Not "Minotaur with lazily pasted on armour"

More centigors? Haven't they been milked enough? Thanks CA!

There are god dedicated Minotaurs in the lore, SFO introduced marks and visually alteration for his Doombull.

At first campaign/mechanic rework, second add new monster units: jabber, ghorghon, preyton, third point more Lords, heroes and god dedicated gors.

This is not a bad point but, if these units came as just simple remodels, they wouldn't really take the budget of anything else away, I'd imagine adding armor to a centigor is fairly low hanging fruit, in the same way that adding multiple variations of pump wagons is, once you've got the base assets.

The other option is that they're more like the sacred Kroxigors or red crested Skinks, where they have unique weapon sets and animations, in which case it's pretty much a completely new unit and I see no reason to complain about that.

Still, you're right that some would complain anyway.

If they do Ghorros as DLC there should definetly be Centigor hero and lord or at least the lord.

Or the wargor on chariot so he can stay with the fast army.

The Ghorgon is actually a breed of Minotaurs, though. That seems to cover the minotaur DLC alright.

Ghorros' DLC would be a mix of units, however. I don't think that's so strange as he did breed all kinds of mutants and monsters during his escapades.
Furthermore, I consider that Daemon Prince must be removed.

Do the Beastmen not have like...any other mounts than Tuskgor and Razorgor chariots?!

Nope. They're actually an army that has been accurately adapted. Unlike some of the other armies in the game.

Ghorgon and Doombull is a must IMO.

After those 2: another big beasty, god-aligned Gors, Wargor and Great Bray Shaman would be nice.

Lastly if there's any charlemagnes left perhaps I guess they could do some variant of minotaurs or centigor.
