You can ACTUALLY permanently lose runefang swords?

Well, this sucks.

I know that whenever your character with elector item dies, you can just appoint new elector and the item respawns, but this is not the case for Beastslayer (and I assume Dragon tooth as well).

Grimgor has just murdered my empire general and Beastslayer is gone for good.

This is so stupid, I thought you CAN'T lose quest items...

You only don't lose quest items because they are on immortal characters. You can lose all other gear if the associated lord dies, so why should it be different for Runefangs?

It sounds like a smart implimentation to me.

Canonically, some of the Runefangs were lost (permanently or for thousands of years) after their wielder was obliterated by a greenskin boss.

Did you ever kill that greenskin? Do/did they happen to have it equipped? It could have just went into the ai's item pool.

It's especially "fun" when that random dilemma pops up, that makes you spend money or prestige to defend an elector count, and then takes one of the lords from your pool randomly, deleting them from the game after the battle.

Goodbye high level immortal lord with good equipment who was unlucky enough to get "ready for duty" right at the start so he was available in the lord pool to be dragged to defend Bechafen against a 6 unit Skaven army.

    The joy.

Not only lose, but they should also be useable by whoever claimed it. Why not?
