Can't host battles/campaigns, can't find battles/campaings

Trying to play online but I see nobody on the ladders.Like really nobody. No matter how may times I refresh, there is not a soul to play against.

I am trying to play H2H/Co-op with a user I am friends with on Steam, I have his user name and all.

Build number is 14562.1159262. You can see how it doesn't work in these pictures:

3. After refreshing, still nobody, so I try to host, and...


4. Nothing happens


Then it says there was no response on the other end.

Forgot to mention; I sm using Linux

As you are now aware, you can't play against your friend if he is using Windows as the two OSs use different file formats.
