Shogun 2 Mac Multiplayer?

Can you play multiplayer competitive/cooperative in Shogun 2 Collection for Mac OS? I've been trying to play with a friend but have no idea how to do so, the main menu only gives the option for single player.

Did you ever figure out a solution to this? I am playing shogun 2 on mac and it also only gives me a singleplayer option.
