Definitely a possible LL for the fourth Dogs of War/Southern Realms. As ArneSo states, Borgio the Besieger, Lorenzo Lupo and Lucrezzia Belladonna have to be the main three.
The other choices for the fourth LL would be Morgan Bernhardt or Jaego Roth (having a Land Ship as a mount would be so fitting). Vespero the Wasp and Captain Edvard Van Der Kraal are another two choices.

One of the strongest contenders for the 4th Dogs of War lord in a hypothetical campaign pack. I'd like to see his greed and treachery represented well, with mechanics that encourage backstabbing your allies and treating your own men like ****. He's the poster boy for the Border Princes, a mad tyrant holding onto what little power he has with an iron grip.

Agree that those three must get in. The fourth LL is a total wildcard, there are many choices with lots of pros and cons. Morgan Bernhardt is a favorite of mine as well, due to his long history. There's also Marco Columbo (now that timelines can be fudged), Mydas the Mean (now that Araby is a pipe-dream), Pirazzo or just about any of the RoR leaders, Jaego Roth, etc. Personally, I'd rather see Van Der Kraal as an Empire faction with some Dogs of War elements. He'd be independent of the Emperor, start sandwiched between Bretonnia and Reikland with Norsca in the north, have some Dogs of War campaign mechanics with an Empire roster supplemented with Marienburg Landships.
Remember: there's no reason to get angry on the forums. Be polite and respectful towards other people's opinions, even if you disagree.

As much as Lietpold seems like an interesting character my top 4 would be Borgio, Lucrezzia, Lupio and (if dreams come true) Morgan Bernhardt. Hell they could just do one LL if it was Morgan Bernhardt; why would anyone want to play as anyone else?
After Borgio, Bernhardt, Long Drong and Golgfag he would be awesome.
It needs to be pointed out that what people call "cheese" is just playing the game the way it actually exists not in some fictional way they think it is supposed to work.

Golgfag's gotta be with the Ogre Kingdoms, I know he was originally a Dog of War but the Ogre Kingdoms are in need of iconic lords and I can more easily see Golgfag leading an Ogre army than a Southern Realms army.
I imagine if Long Drong gets in, it'll just be leading his Slayer Pirates RoR, not as an LL himself.

This is my favorite character for the Dogs of War. He represents that absolute worst of mercenary life and is the quintessential warlord general of humanity in Warhammer. Give him a start in Akendorf and let the fun begin.

Nah both should be DoW LLs

Golgfag should be a LL for Ogres.
Long Drong is not a faction Leader or Ruler of a City state so he should be a LH or something similar to Markus Hunters.
Bernhard would be a good alternative to Lietpold but he probably won’t come because of the license.
The main DoW armybook characters are Borgio, Lorenzo and Lucrezzia so they should have the priority.
GW own the rights to all characters etc in both shadow of the horned rat and dark omen. All rights reserved TM.
This includes Morgan Bernhardt hence he has been in white dwarf. As have dawn of war blood ravens.
And yes they own Cylostra. (They can make a model for her or create a whole new board game based around her).
And EA only published dark omen. They did not make shadow of the horned rat or publish it. GW and mindscape developed shadow of the horned rat (and Morgan Bernhardt, but again only GW owns the setting and characters) and dark omen (again EA only published dark omen).

The fourth definitely is a wildcard. I prefer to get Morgan Bernhardt but Lietpold and Jaego are two that I want as well. Marco and Pirazzo are possible too but prefer the ones I've mentioned. I'll say no to Mydas simply because I've not given up on Araby.
Van Der Kraal can go either way for me (Dogs of War or Empire) as he is like Mallobaude (Bretonnia or Vampire Counts). Maybe he could be Dogs with some Empire units to make him unique?

Morgan and Lietpold are definitely my frontrunners. Though I'd hope we get more than 4 in the long term, especially now that DLC for DLC is known to be a thing.
I agree that Van Der Kraal should be a hybrid of the two factions, but I think his basis should be Empire as Marienburg was formerly an Imperial province. That, and I think the aesthetic (music, UI, voices) of the Dogs of War will be heavily Tilean/Italian-inspired, giving it a Southern flair that may feel out of place in Marienburg.

Yeah next to the ones you mentioned, characters like Don Diego Estragon or Gashnag would also be good wildcards

"Though I'd hope we get more than 4 in the long term, especially now that DLC for DLC is known to be a thing." That's what I'm hoping for as well. I think the Dogs of War/Southern Realms could get a 'Lords' pack that consists only of LLs and campaigns that they could give.
I'm happy either way with how Van Der Kraal is implemented. It might have to be Empire in terms of him controlling Marienburg as Marienburg is in the Empire Elector Counts system. There is a way around it though; Van Der Kraal's faction can start near Marienburg and under the hire of the ten Merchant Houses. This would allow him to start as Dogs of War/Southern Realms but still have an Empire aspect to him (perform Marienburg's contracts and get money and Empire units).
The main factions should be Tilea, Estalia and the Border Princes but Marienburg is very fitting as well (and the mercenaries in the eastern trade routes and other places across the world).

Diego could work if he gets fleshed out (make up something like him finding an artifact to extend his life) and Gashnag is possible (an easter egg Lord in the Border Princes could work).

I really hooe we get DoW as main race of game 3 so we can get alot of lord packs. So many great characters.

A land ship? ok no contest.
The Landship should be a unit for the Empire.
The Landship is pretty similar to the Steam Tank and aesthetically fits the Dogs of War quite well, I think it should go to them, especially seeing as they have very few SEM units anyway.

Yes and from the wiki:
"One of the wealthiest cities in the Old World, a nexus for trade and crossroads for many lands, such is Marienburg's wealth that in the year 2429 by Imperial reckoning, it effectively 'bought' its secession and independence from the Empire by a vast transfer of gold into the Imperial coffers, its merchant-lords having grown tired of the factious wars and intrigues of the Imperial state and their effect on the only thing they cared for - the pursuit of profit"
"Marienburg has often been forced to 'buy' its way out of trouble, and its merchant guilds have long learned to rely upon mercenary forces"
"Three 'Marienburg' Class Land Battle Ships (to give them their official title) had been completed, with a fourth on the way, when Tamurkhan's horde darkened Wissenland's horizon. The Merchant Lords of Marienburg had already made to secure their investment by moving a number of heavy barges and a sizable guard of veteran mercenaries, the infamous Manann's Blades, to escort the first part of the 'fleet' back to Marienburg upon completion."

Comments
As long as we get the 3 main characters Borgio, Lorenzo and Lucrezzia I wouldn’t mind him as a LL.
