Amazons Penthesilea Epic Missions derailed

ParmigianDonParmigianDon Registered Users Posts: 6
I started an Amazons Penthesilea campaign on H/H. Everything was going fine, did the first three steps in my epic mission chain and mission 4 is to sack Sestos, (owned in this play-through by Chersonesos). Well the turn afterwards, the settlement Sestos was occupied by my defensive ally Hector of Troy which resulted in a notification telling me the epic mission was no longer available. No further missions have appeared since. Can post screen caps etc if requested.

Playing as Penthesilea, Fated Judgement is an epic mission where we're sent to raze Athens.

In my game, however, even before I was given the mission, Athens was owned by Hippolyta's Amazons, with whom I am in a military alliance.

The mission should be to either raze Athens or "confederate" it, or whatever it's called, where having it owned by a player with whom you are in a full alliance is enough to complete the mission.

Requiring me to raze a settlement belonging to my own military ally (none other than Hippolyta!) isn't reasonable.

I could tell the problem is "deeper down" however, since I went to check Total War victory conditions as an alternative way of winning the game without having to declare war on Hippolyta, but it turns out I'd have to declare war on another military ally, which is Troy, because for a Total War victory I'd need to actually raze it. I can't just "confederate" it or otherwise have it owned by a military ally.

    All of that needs reviewing.

A lot of the Amazon campaign seems to suffer from problems that could be solved easily through rigorous testing by multiple people. The problems I've had in only one campaign are a bit ridiculous.

Sadly my campaign devolved for me into defeating my antagonist faction and auto resolving until I am too bored to continue. It is frustrating that the victory conditions can be either unachievable or immersion ending but Troy seems to suffer worse than other total war games from diminishing returns (to fun) as your strength rank increases. The autopilot auto resolve end game doesn't do it for me.

    Hi @ParmigianDon ,

could you provide a savegame when the mission was last available, before Hector conquered Chersonesos?

Does this work? The autosave turn 31 right before the epic mission was aborted

    Hi @ParmigianDon ,

sadly the autosave is right after the mission was aborted. We'll need a save on the previous turn. If you do have such save it will be of great help.
    Thanks in advance!
