Multiplayer Campaign bug

Hello, me and a friend played a vanilla large Campaign (coop Seleukiden and Nabatäa), but after around 4 hours my friend got kicked. We tried to restart the Campaign from the last save, but he could not join. The Game said I would have a DLC Campaign Lobby so he isnt allowed to join and another time that he has a different version. We dont us mods or anything like this. We checked the game but there were no misstake said steam. So what should we do?
