After sometime without playing the Empire campaign I decided to give it a go but just to change things a bit every time a confed. a province I will build an army for that province trying to follow the lore.
Because I'm kinda of early in the campaign I only have Ostland's army done but I confess that I have a limited amount of knowledge about the provinces economics and history so I would like to know if anyone have any kind of suggestion about what each province's army should or shouldn't have or even what kinid of army composition you people use when doing a thematic Empire playthrough.
That's the current, and I imagine final, composition of my Ostland's army:
1 Lord on a Barded Horse (Never heard of Vilmar riding a Gryphon);
1 Warrior Priest (Sigmar is literally in on the official banner of the province);
1 Grey Wizard (maybe I should change it for Light Wizard because of all the Chaos Corruption??);
1 Witch Hunter (because of the proximity to the chaos waste cult activity tend to be high and so witch hunter activity also is);
4 Spearmen with Shields;
2 Halberdiers at the flanks;
4 Hunters (Ostland supposedly have some of the best hunters);
1 Carroburg Greatsword (I rename it Black Guard in reference to the famous greatsword regiment from the province);
1 Handgunner (I took 1 Gunderman's Surefire from Hochland's State Troop and rename it Fireloque of Ferlange also in reference to the famous handgunner regiment of Ostland);
2 Stubborn Bulls (The official State Troop of Ostland);
1 Great Cannon;
1 Mortar.
I tried to avoid any expensive units like Hellstorms, Hellblasters and so forth since the province is notoriously poor and very stubborn about avoiding changes...
Thanks in advance!

1 Lord on a Gryphon (Wolfram Hertwig is one of the few Elector Counts to have a confirmed Gryphon mount)
1 Witch Hunter (Lot's of Vampires in Ostermark also Mordheim is located in Ostermark)
1 Amethyst Wizard (Ostermark is a morbid place and Amethyst wizards are good at rooting out necromancy)
2 Knights of Morr (Quite a few of them in Ostermark)
2 Knights of the Everlasting Light (Their second chapterhouse is in Essen)
Infantry and technology is whatever you want, I don't know enough about that. I guess one unit of Nordland Mariners to proxy as Death's Head halberdiers would work.

1 · Disagree Agree1 Lord on Foot or Barded Warhouse, or just confederate for Marius Leitdorf.
1 Captain
2 Knights of the Blazing Sun - Averland is known for its knights and they have a chapter house in Averheim
2 Knights
2 pistoliers - young nobility
2 greatswords - Marius personally led a regiment of averlander greatswords at one of the Battles of Blackfire Pass.
2 hunters - part of the mountain guard that protects the pass.
4 Halberds/spears - melee infantry portion of the mountain guard
Fill out the rest as you see fit. Averland is richer than most other provinces so it has money to afford artillery. Or take a demi gryph or two to hone in on their cavalry expertise. Or Outriders. Plenty of young nobles in those lands, with the coin to hire them, and they fit the cav theme still.

1 · Disagree Agreeso small elite bodyguard units, one or 2 witch hunters, a death wizard and a pletora of chaff spearmen & archers
middenland & nordland are ulric themed, nordland with a manann twist, so we dont have most essential units to make those (knights of the white wolf, wolf-kin...) free-company militia can count as pirates for nordland though!
wissenland is the capital of gunpowder of the empire, so get as many of those you can.
also lacks some units like engineer heroes & ironsides.ostland is famed by it's ogre & gospodar populations, so ogre mercenaries and cavalry archers should be present but god knows how to get that in TTW without mods
for
fantasy bulgariaaverland just look at Randir list.- Report
